"Mom?" Juliet stopped right in her tracks, she pushed me back and to the side of the house so her mom wouldn't see me.
"Juliet?"
"Why are you home early? You weren't supposed to be home till Sunday night." Juliet said with anger in her voice.
"I should be asking you the questions. What did you do to your hair!? And what are you wearing?!" Her mom screamed at her.
"Mom I did what I like to my hair. I think it looks nice, and I'm wearing what I like! I'm tired of taking your crap!"
"You are my daughter and you will listen to me! I'm not going to be raising a punk!" Her mom faught back. I wanted to go in there so bad a defend her but I knew that would make everything worse.
"No, mom. You're my mom and you should support my choices! Not try to change them!"
"I do support you! I give you everything you want except for when they make you look like a lowlife!" Her mom yelled at her.
"Have you ever thought maybe I don't want what you want?" Juliet simply asked.
"It's not about what you want!" When her mom said that she exploded.
"Fuck you." Juliet said sternly. Juliet came out and the door slammed behind her. "Let's go Luke." She said her voice cracking. I didn't speak I just followed but it wasn't over.
"Where are you- a boy? Who is that? Are you fucking him!? I always knew you'd end up with a douche bag that's why I try to help you! See Juliet, this is why!" Her mom came running out on the lawn and pointed to me. Juliet was already in tears but she was fuming.
"Can't you just lay off mom? Luke has nothing to do with any of this! No, I am not fucking him cause I'm not the whore you think I am. Luke happens NOT to be a douche bag, you are. Leave me alone!" Juliet screamed and pulled my hand not letting me speak. I was so confused about everything.
"Don't you dare ever bother coming back to this house!" Her mom screamed.
Juliet didn't reply. She just wiped the tears from her eyes, she never looked back...
-
Once we got inside my house my mom was in the kitchen.
"Go wait upstairs I'll be there in a minute," I told Juliet. She nodded and gave a weak smile to my mom.
"Luke, what did you do?" My mom said putting her hand on her hip.
"I didn't do anything. Listen she had a really bad fight with her mom. Would she be able to stay here for a little bit? She doesn't really have anywhere else to go." I said to my mom. My moms eyes softened.
"Of course." She said. I gave my mom a quick hug and ran upstairs to Juliet. I opened my door and she was sitting on my bed.
"Do you want to borrow some clothes?" I asked her and she nodded. She showed almost no emotion. I dug through my clothes and pulled out a pair of sweats and a t shirt. She thanked me and I turned around to let her change.
"I'm done." She whispered.
I turned back around and my shirt hung over her shoulder a bit. The sweat pants were big on her too so they hung off her hips. She looked very cute to say the least.
"My mom said you can stay here." I told her.
"Thank you." She said.
"...Do you um, wanna talk about it?" I said.
"What is there to talk about? You heard everything? She doesn't want me there anymore...I have to find somewhere else to go. If she truly wants me back in the house she'll come get me. Otherwise I don't want go be somewhere I'm not wanted." She said playing with her thumbs, something I've noticed she does a lot.
