i'm sitting in the driver's seat of my car, listening to nini's new song on her instagram. i'm about to text her to ask her about it when i'm interrupted by the sound of gina opening the door to the passenger's side-her eyes immediately dart down to my chest, which for some reason makes her laugh.

"what?"

"that's the ugliest sweater i've ever seen," she cackles, buckling her seatbelt.

"what are you talking about?! it's casual!"

"it's also late february," she laughs.

"and what about it?!"

"you're wearing a christma-you know what, just drive," she sighs out, opening instagram up on her phone. i hear nini's voice play from her phone as i drive, which makes me smile (obviously). i look over and see gina grinning like an idiot too, which surprises me for some reason.

"wow, i didn't know it was possible for medusa to smi-"

"fuck off, JFK!"

i laugh, turning the steering wheel to round the corner, "do you think it's about us?"

"i doubt it, we've only been 'dating' for like, three days. besides, the girl she's singing about apparently has blonde hair."

"yeah, probably not," i mumble, more to myself than to gina.

"it's probably about one of e.j's side hustles," she jokes, earning a laugh from me.

"how do you know about that?!"

"it's e.j we're talking about, how could i not know about that?" gina sighs.

"oh, speaking of that..we need to have, like, a signal. in case something goes wrong," i suggest.

"a signal?! no thanks g.i joe, i'm good."

"shut up! i'm just saying, i don't wanna mess this up."

"we won't, just follow my lead on everything. try to open your mouth as little as possible."
