Chapter 4

Y/N:

As I let myself into the condo, I thought about my date with Jackson. It had gone extremely well. He was sweet and so easy to talk to. We had spent over two hours at the café talking and laughing. I really enjoyed his company and he was definitely easy on the eyes. We stood outside the café for an additional 15 minutes, exchanging numbers. As we said goodbye, he kissed my cheek then immediately blushed, making an excuse to leave. The sweet action was extremely endearing and so unexpected.

I was getting ready to order dinner from my favorite pizza place when my phone dinged.

Unknown:

You shouldn't be dating other men

You belong to me

4:46 PM

Me:

I really don't know you

4:47 PM

Unknown:

You shouldn't have let him kiss you

No one touches what is mine

I looked down at the messages. I was starting to get a little nervous. Who was this guy and why was he texting me? I knew the best thing to do would be to ignore it, but I had tried that earlier.

Me:

Who are you?

4:49 PM

Unknown:

You'll know soon enough

I can't wait to see you my angel

I quickly blocked the number after that last message and hoped that would be the end of it. I picked up the phone and called Lina.

"Hey sweets," she said into the phone upon answering. "How did the date go?"

I smiled at her obvious enthusiasm. "It went surprisingly well. Jackson was really sweet and so funny. And you're right. He really is handsome."

Lina squealed and I moved the phone away from my ear. "I told you this would be a good one. Didn't I? Admit I was right!"

I rolled my eyes knowing full well she couldn't see. "Yes Lina. You were right. It was a really good date," I relented. "We even exchanged numbers afterwards."

Lina squealed again. "This could be the one," she exclaimed.

"Hold up a minute. It was only one date. Don't start picking out my wedding dress just yet," I said, a nervous giggle in my voice. I knew once Lina latched onto something she was like a wolf with a rabbit.

We talked for a few more minutes before I ended the call. I placed an order for pizza then changed into a pair of flannel pants and a black t-shirt. I had just grabbed a soda from the fridge when the doorbell rang. I grabbed money from my purse and pulled the door open after checking through the peephole.
