Jisoo was outside of her backyard one night, zoning out as she held a cup of tea in her hands. She sighed at the thought of having to go back to her and Jennie's apartment tomorrow, considering that Finals were already starting the next day.

Jisoo puffed up her cheeks as she glanced down at her notes and stationery scattered on the table. Her head was about to explode from all the studying she and her friends had been doing this past week, that had been Jisoo's only focus so far, she didn't realise that the week was finally coming to an end.

"Jisoo?", a voice called, snapping Jisoo out of her trance, Jisoo glanced back and saw that it was her mother, "What are you doing out here this late?", her mother–Soyeon– inquired softly as she went over to take a seat beside Jisoo.

"Hi mum.", Jisoo smiled smally as she placed her cup on the table, "I was just studying.", Jisoo smiled.

"You've been studying all week.", Soyeon said with a frown, she then caressed her daughter's head gently.

"Well.", Jisoo chuckled, "My finals is in two days, and I just want to make you proud.", Jisoo smiled sheepishly.

"You always do.", her mother smiled, Jisoo let out a small chuckle, she then swallowed when she thought of something.

"Mum.", Jisoo called as she sat up, facing her mother, "I have something to ask you.", Jisoo said.

"Yes?", Soyeon said, attentive.

"When you and dad had a falling out, how did you know that it was just..", Jisoo trailed, "D-did you know that you were going to find your way back to each other eventually?", Jisoo asked, and her mother seemed surprised at Jisoo's question.

Jisoo's parents love story was one hell of a rollercoaster ride too. A movie if Jisoo had to describe it in one word. When Jisoo first heard the story, she was sixteen, and it surprised her because she didn't realise how hard it was for her parents to be together back then.

Though Jisoo then figured that that is maybe why they were still so in love with each other, even up until now. And at seventeen, Jisoo vowed to herself to find a love like her parents if not better.

"That's random.", her mother let out a small laugh and Jisoo scrunched her nose at that.

Her mother then gave it a thought, "But, no.", Soyeon shook her head, "I honestly thought I'd never see him again.", she said with a slight shudder.

"Is that why you had agreed to get married to someone else?", Jisoo asked, her mother then looked up at her and nodded.

"I was so heartbroken. Very heartbroken.", she responded, "I figured I had nothing to lose so I settled. I figured that there was no way I was going to be happy with anyone like how I was with your father.", she said, thinking back on how painful it was. And Jisoo inhaled.

"But he came back.", Jisoo said with a sad smile, her mother then nodded, with a grateful small smile on her face.

"We got really lucky.", she said, "That's why he asked me to marry him afterwards. He said enough messing around, enough of the push and pull, he promised that we weren't going to run away from each other again.", she said, "I said yes and then you came along a year after that.", her mother smiled as she booped Jisoo's nose slightly and Jisoo let out a small laugh at that.
