"Oh..God. No, Jisoo.", Jinyoung said with a small laugh, "No. I'm not married and that's not my baby. It's just Nayeon's daughter.", Jinyoung explained, and Jisoo raised her eyebrows.

"I-it's not?", Jisoo asked again for some clarification and Jinyoung shook his head as he held in his smile.

"No. I'm not married. Nor am I seeing anyone.", Jinyoung clarified, and hearing that Jisoo felt relieved.

"Oh.", she said quietly, she then tilted her head, "Nayeon has a daughter?", Jisoo asked and Jinyoung nodded.

"Long story.", Jinyoung said, "Is that why you hesitated to sit down with me?", Jinyoung asked suddenly, and Jisoo furrowed her eyebrows at that as she shook her head. Clearly lying.

"Oh..", Jinyoung trailed, "Then I'm assuming it's because you have someone-"

"No.", Jisoo denied, cutting him off, she then realised how a bit too strong she came off, "Sorry. But no. I don't have anyone.", Jisoo said as she swallowed, Jinyoung tilted his head slightly with a small smile on his face, somehow glad hearing that.

Though before they could continue their conversation, Jisoo's phone then rang. It was her assistant.

"Yes, Soyou?", Jisoo answered, "Right now?", Jisoo asked, looking down at her watch, "Alright. Tell them I'll be there as soon as possible, I'll leave now.", Jisoo said, hanging up moments later, she then looked up at Jinyoung.

"Well, that's my cue to go.", Jisoo said as she inhaled, looking at Jinyoung with a tight smile.

"Alright. I kind of have to be excused to.", Jinyoung nodded, returning the smile and Jisoo felt some sense of relief somehow, she then stood up from her seat, gathering all her stuff.

"I'll see you soon, Mr Park.", Jisoo said, almost softly, she then walked away with a small smile on her face. Leaving Jinyoung strucked.

"See you soon too, Jisoo.", he said quietly as he watched Jisoo gracefully exit the restaurant.

Jinyoung was at the office a few days later, doing work of course. And his mind went back to Jisoo from a few days ago, he hated that he found himself being hopeful.

But then again how could he not? Jisoo clarified it herself that she wasn't seeing anyone and he himself isn't messing around with anyone right now. The timing seemed perfect.

Though he couldn't help but think that this was some kind of sick joke the universe was playing on him, because back when Jisoo and him tried again, they failed, despite things being just as perfect at the time.

His mind then went back to what Nayeon had said to him seven years ago before he boarded the flight to London.

If you love someone, set them free. if they come back, they're yours; if they don't, they never were.

Jinyoung swallowed when that quote ran through his head.

By any chance Kim Jisoo, is this you coming back? Are you mine? Jinyoung thought as he felt his chest tightened, he hated how he had so much hope but he just couldn't help it.
