Duskflower's Story

Chapter 15: Kits there, Kits here, Kits everywhere

  It took Duskflower a moon to get the courage and tell her mother about Joystripe mainly because Willowheart seemed so busy. 

   Willowheart would go for Dawn Patrol almost everyday, then either go for a hunting patrol, solo hunt, or with Mousetail. She would then come, eat something and go visit Crystallight and Rosevine and stay there a until of bit after sun-high. Then she go and find something to do to help the Clan, like covering the cave dens with moss and fern. She would then go for a border patrol at Sunset and eat and then sleep.

Duskflower saw her mother eating a vole and luckily there were no cats with her so she decided to talk to her. 

"Hi Willowheart."

"Oh hi Duskflower. Go grab something to eat and we can talk."

Duskflower took a carp and sat next to her mother.

"You did go hunt today right Duskflower?"

"Yes, I went with Nectargaze."

"Good..good."

"I need to talk to you about something very important."

"Well then talk, there's no cat next to us so you may speak."

Duskflower explained everything that happened a moon before, what Joystripe said, how Berrytail possessed him.

"And, a while back I went and saw Joystripe and Oreo leave. They said they are travelling as far away as they can."

"I can't believe you are such as mousebrain!"

Duskflower was shocked at her mother's words.

"He's obviously lying."

"How else could he have known about Berrytail."

"Berrytail convinced him the kill the kits and now he's just making up excuses to make him seem like he victim."

"How can you say that? He is also your kit."

"I am ashamed I produced such a creature."

"Well now you won't ever have see him again."

"Thank StarClan for that. Don't be so naive Duskflower."

"Willowheart what is wrong with you?! Why are you acting so strange?"

"Never ever speak to me about this again, ever." 

And with that Willowheart walked away, going towards Mousetail.

Why is my family so difficult to deal with? Nothing like this ever happened when we were kits and apprentices. On one paw we have a innocent cat who everone believes killed four kits, a lovesick and moony she-cat, an angry and sad queen, well all that's left is Moustail. And even he's been distant after the Joystripe incident. 

She suddenly heard screams from the nursery and Rosevine ran out. 

"Crystalight is kitting, someone call Tansyleaf!"She yowled.

"No need to call me, I'm here." Said Tansyleaf running out of the medicine cat's den.

Tansyleaf enters the nursery and starts checking on Crystallight.

"No cat should enter." She said.

"Is she going to be ok?" Asked a worried Moonshine, Crystallight's mother.

"She will be fine."

Whitefang ran towards the nursery but Tansyleaf stopped him from coming inside.

"No cat is allowed for a while."

"I want to see her." 

"Please wait."
