Part 14- Leaving Early

You wake up to missed calls and texts. Almost all from Spencer and a few from JJ.

From JJ- "Hey, Will was telling me about how sad Henry was that your weren't at the school today. I hope everything is okay!"

From Spencer-"Will said you weren't at the school, where are you?"

Two missed phone calls.

From Spencer- "Hello? Y/n, pick up the phone."

Three missed phone calls.

From Spencer- "Please answer me angel."

Two missed phone calls.

From Spencer- "You're starting to worry me."

From JJ- "The team says that the hope everything is okay! Especially Spencer, he just told Hotch he was coming to check on you and the left."

The last one was sent a minute ago.

From Spencer- "I'm coming to get you, I'll be there in an hour."

You call him immediately.

"Y/N?! Are you okay?! Why haven't you been answering me?! I'll be there in an hour!" He said frantically.

"Spence, it's okay, calm down. You don't have to come get me, stay and work the case."

"Why aren't you at work?"

"I'm visiting my mom."

"Why?" He asked, calm now.

"I just missed her." You didn't want him to worry so you left out the part about your dad.

"I'm still coming to check on you."

"Spence, no, please stay and work on the case. They need you more that I do right now." You didn't mean to say the last part, implying that you need him.

"What do you mean?" He says. Shit, he caught that.

"I.. I don't know what you mean." You try to lie, but you aren't very convincing.

"Y/n, tell me what's wrong, please."

"It's nothing, okay!! Why doesn't anyone leave me alone?! GOD! IM FINE! Why won't you just drop it! I don't need your help!" You snap. You instantly regretted it.

"I gotta go, they need my help." He makes up an excuse.

"Wait Spence, I'm sorry, I didn-" You were cut off when he hung up.

Your eyes start to get blurry and you realize you are crying. You curl up into a ball and lay in the guest room bed, crying.

"Do you really have to leave so soon honey?" You mom ask, trying to get you to stay a little longer.

As soon as you had stopped crying, you had told your mom that you were leaving early.

"I'm sorry mom, I have to get back, I have work tomorrow."

"Promise me you will visit soon? And maybe bring that boy you were talking about." At the mention of Spencer, you freeze. You felt so bad for snapping at Spencer, you just didn't want to distract him from his case by telling him about your dad.

"I... I promise."

"Good! Let me make you something before you go, please."

"I'm sorry mom, I can't, I have a long drive ahead of me!" You attempt to sound upbeat.

"Oh, alright honey. I'll see you soon." She says as you walk out the door.

You sulk all afternoon, sad and a little mad at yourself for snapping at Spencer. He was just trying to help and you just pushed him away instead. Pulling out your phone, you decide to text Spencer.

From you- "Spence, I'm really sorry for getting mad at you, I was just really tired. Will you let me know when you get back from your case so I can talk to you?"

There, it was sent and you couldn't undo it. He didn't answer back till about 2 hours later.

From Spencer- "Yeah." Was all you got. It was a little cold but you deserved it for being rude.

You set your phone down and start getting ready for bed early. You were tired of sulking so you decide to go to bed instead.

Know that you had some time to think rationally, it wasn't the smartest idea to leave your mom alone. You didn't know how to tell her about your dad, so you just didn't.

Once you were done getting ready, you crawled into bed and fell into a restless sleep.
