"My, my, what a night," Captain Modi said as he looked at the bright sun the next morning.
"What a storm," Bill added, grateful all of his crew members were safe.
"How long are we going to stay here for?" Kevin asked.
"I think we'll look around to see if we can get any more supplies before we head back out on the water," Captain Modi explained.
"Did you hear that? I now think I know what we have to do," Charles explained. "We wait till everyone is away, maybe grab a few supplies, hijack the dinghy and escape the island before they find out."
"Are you guys alright?" Meg asked both of her companions. The three were soaking in the rising sun, sitting in the grass just outside the mouth of a small but dry cave where they had spent the night huddled together, waiting for the storm to pass.
"Yeah," Jasper answered.
"I'm simply grateful to be alive," Annie added.
"But it seems as though we aren't alone. Look!" Jasper said, pointing at a ship in the distance that someone else had also docked on the island.
"And that isn't just any pirate ship. It's Captain Modi's ship! He must be here with the rest of our friends," Meg realized.
"What are we going to do?" Annie asked.
"How about you, and I try to find the rest of my former crew while Meg tries to find things that could be useful out on the sea again? We'll meet back at this cave in about an hour?" Jasper suggested to Annie.
"Sounds good to me," Annie responded.
"Me too," Meg added.
While Annie and Jasper headed off toward the docked pirate ship, Meg went in the opposite direction to search for more food to take on the boat.
