Secrets from the Deep

Chapter 12

"Jasper? Is that you?" Michael asked after they were all on the Air Mando.

"Yep. After escaping the Star Sailor, I came across the Night Wind, captained by this girl, Annie, and her cousin, Meg. We ultimately ended up on the same island that you did, looking for protection from the storm. The two of us were going to try and rescue you, but Captain Modi kidnapped us. Wait, where's Caden?" Jasper said to his friends.

"I did overhear some of the pirates saying that they couldn't find him, and they decided to leave him on the island," Albert pointed out.

"Wait, so Caden is on his own on an island with no ways of survival?" Charles panicked.

"Well, knowing that she's not here, Meg is most likely still on that island," Annie realized.

"The Night Wind is also there, so they'll be able to escape with no problems," Jasper added.

"He was about to tell me how he became a member of Captain Modi's ship when you threw a coconut at him, which knocked him out," Caden told Meg as she followed the Air Mando.

"I'm just glad that you aren't hurt," Meg replied after Caden completed his story.

"So, since our original plan didn't work, what do you suggest we do when we come into contact with Captain Modi?" Caden asked.

"I was thinking-" Meg began. She was unable to explain what she was thinking because she started hearing footsteps on the deck.

"There's the boy we left behind on the island," Captain Modi said from behind.

"Not again!" Caden cried out in annoyance.

"So, you're the great Captain Modi that everyone's been talking about," Meg realized, trying to remain calm.

"Indeed, I am, Miss," Captain Modi replied.

"And you're not taking either of us captive," Caden added, trying to sound as brave as he could.

"There's no need to fear, Son. You've been on the Air Mando once; you can do it again. Besides, nearly all of the people we take captive enjoy the life of a pirate," Terrance said. Multiple crew members went up to Caden and Meg, and before they could realize it, they were kidnapped.

"Two new captives to add to your group!" Terrance announced as Meg and Caden were thrown below deck with the rest of their friends. The door was then closed and locked.

"Meg! Caden! Are you guys alright? What happened?" Jasper asked.

"We were following the Air Mando and trying to be as quiet as we could. Unfortunately, they somehow knew. The next thing we knew, pirates were on the deck, and we were captured," Caden explained.

"What's going to happen to us now?" Meg questioned.

"He's going to put us through pirate training, and if we're bad, we'll most likely be forced to walk the plank," Charles replied.

"Any plans to escape?"

"I don't know. I just need some sleep right now. Good night, everyone."
