"I mean, today could have been worse," Jasper said after dinner when all of his friends were in the prisoner's cabin.

"That's because you just had to climb up the mast and hoist the sail. We ended up having to load and shoot the cannons multiple times," Charles complained as he tried to wipe the soot off his face and clothes.

"I'm with Charles. I've been on this ship for almost a week, and I've had enough of this!" Robert added.

"Knowing how our last attempt didn't work, we need to think of something else," Michael pointed out.

"That wasn't even the biggest issue with our original idea. After Michael, Charles, and I had jumped out of the ship to join the other three in the dinghy, apparently, the pirates pulled the little rescue boat out of our way, and we fell into the water," Albert said.

"Doesn't help that Captain Modi is a light sleeper," Alex moaned.

"What about we try the plan again and instead, give the pirates the grog rather than ourselves," Annie suggested.

"What do you mean?" Charles asked.

"Don't you remember? I'm the cook on this ship. How about you boys cut open the wall so we can sneak into the dinghy once again. Then, on the night we attempt to escape, I'll see to it that all of the pirates eat or drink some grog, so they all fall into a deep sleep," Annie explained.

After another day of pirate training, everyone on the Air Mando sat down for dinner made by Annie.

"Now that was a lovely dinner, Miss," Kevin complimented after everyone had finished their meal.

"What's for dessert?" Mark asked.

"A boiled treacle pudding," Annie answered as she placed the spiked grog dessert on the table.

"Oh, boy! I haven't had any proper dessert for a week!" Alex exclaimed.

"It's only for the pirates," Annie explained as she started cutting the dessert.

"I thought you were our friend!" Alex yelled.

"I think she's using that to put the pirates to sleep," Meg whispered to Alex.

"Okay, I'm alright," he said as his abductors were starting to eat the dessert.

"Well, folks. You did a lovely job today, but now, it's off to bed for everyone," Bill told everyone through yawns.
