"Stop this, I have a proposition!..."

"Save it for someone who cares..."

"This is none of your concern. Let her go..."

"Oh? Why so agitated? You seem to care about the well-being of this waterbender..."

"Stay quiet. Promise me you won't let him take you..."

"I love you, Zuko. I love you. Remember that."

                         "I will..."

          "Y/N, my beautiful lotus flower..."

"You know I love you, Y/N."

               "Y/N!"

          Y/N!

"Y/N!" Katara yelled, and Y/N sat bolt upright, promptly hitting her head on something hard.

"Argh!" She fell back, clutching her forehead. "Ow..." Upon opening her eyes, she realized what she had hit. Sokka, clad in full Fire Nation armor, was doubled over on the floor, also clutching his head. "Don't hover over me so closely if your waking me up!" Y/N complained. "I've hit my head enough without your big face being a factor!"

"Y/N!" Katara cried, throwing her arms around her sister.

"That's the thing." Sokka yelled, getting up. "You weren't waking up." He knelt by her bed, smiling despite the red mark on his forehead. "It's good to have you back."

"Back? I-" Y/N's eyes widened as she remembered. "Oh... what... how...?"

"I had to split the spirit water between you and Aang, it was barely enough to bring you guys back." Katara explained. Y/N shuffled so she could lean against the wall, getting her bearings.

It was a Fire Nation ship. The tapestries and metal gave it away instantly, and judging by the way Sokka was dressed, it was their cover. Still, it felt so familiar to her. The warm, flickering light reflected off the metal walls, creating a cozy feel. She used to think it felt like a prison, but now it just felt more like home than anything, other than the Southern Tribe itself.

"How? How did you save me?" Y/N felt tears form in her eyes. She lifted her shirt a little, only to almost throw up. There was a horrible, blistered burn wound, and a healing scab where the fiery weapon had gone clear through her body. She pulled the fabric of her shirt down again.

"That's the thing. I didn't get there in time." Katara said quietly. Y/N looked over at her, confused.

          "But... but that means..."

"You died that day, Y/N." Sokka finished for her, crossing his arms. "I don't know how the magic water brought you back, but it did, Aang too. Both of you were gone. I'm not going to question it, though, we're glad you guys are alive."

Sokka pulled her into a hug, and she returned it. She had died. Actually died. By Zuko's hand.

"Y/N..." Katara murmured as Sokka exited the room, called by a soldier above. Y/N looked over at her sister, wiping the tears from her eyes quickly.
