"ellie! wake up sunshine." the fully dressed chief opens her door

"dad, how many times? don't call me sunshine." she lets out a light chuckle, sitting up

he walks into the room, opening the curtains more and kissing her forehead softly.

"morning sweetheart." he smiles as she smiles back, leaning against his chest

"morning dad." she looks up at him

"come on, get up. i want to eat breakfast with you before i leave." he ruffles her hair

she giggles, nodding and rubbing her eyes.

"i'll be out soon." she smiles

he nods, heading back towards the door, sending a small kiss her way before shutting her room door.

el stands up, walking to her bathroom so she could get ready for the day.

she washes her face, puts a little makeup on before she freshens up in other ways.

afterwards, she walks out and puts on a white button up shirt and a light pink mini skirt.

she grabs her black vans backpack and put on her pair of vans before she walked out to join her father with breakfast.

"you look nice." her father smiles as she smiles shyly, sitting down

"thanks dad." she grabs a fork

"so, how was last night?" he asks as she shrugs

"better. my episode wasn't that bad." she tells him

"kid, you know you could always come sleep in my room right?" he asks as she nods

"i know, i know but my bipolar is hard to deal with. i'll be fine, dad." she reassures him

"okay. i just get worried when i go to work, you know?" he asks

"dad." she grabs him hand, "i'm fine. stop worrying and be the baddest cop in town okay?"

he chuckles, "you really are your mothers daughter." he smiles softly as she returns the gesture

"i know. anyways, what time will you be back tonight?" she asks

"i'm not sure, kid. i should get off at 8." he says as she nods

"so 11." she lets out a sad smile

"ellie, i'm sorry but-"

"no, no. it's okay. it's your job, you're helping people. i'll just hang with liv tonight, if that's okay?" she asks

"yes of course. text me when you get home though." he smiles as she nods

"oh shoot. i'm late. i'll see you tonight, love you dad." she gives him a kiss on the cheek

"see you kid, stay safe." he says as she waves

"you too chief." she winks before walking to the front door and exiting the house
