Chapter 17

Misty POV

I was left in the small meeting room for around 2 hours before someone came to get me. A young nurse stuck her head in the door. "Are you the mum of Ryan?" she asks with a small smile. I nod my head at her. "He is awake and is crying for you" she says. I stand up and follow her out of the room. As we are walking down the hallway to his room I ask her "Is that doctor the only doctor on tonight?" she shakes her head no. "Is there any possible way of having another doctor look at Ryan?" I ask her.

She gives me a soft smile, "Of course. I will call the doctor as soon as I get back to the desk. This is Ryan's room" she points to the door with a smile. I open the door slowly and see my son, attached to wires and tubes. He is laying in the cot, crying out for me. I rush into the room and drop the side of the cot and pick him up. Cuddling him into me chest.

"It's ok little guy. Mummy has you now" I say to him. Kissing his little head. I sat there cuddling him, silently crying the whole time. Mum opens the door and takes a few steps in and watches me and Ryan. "How is he?" she asks. I break down again before answering her. "The first arsehole doctor said, he has a small brain bleed and that the evidence of everything proves that he was assaulted. I don't believe him so I asked for another doctor" I tell her.

She nods her head at me and comes closer to us. She sits on the arm of the chair I am in and rubs Ryan's hair. "We will get Tyson out of jail" she says softly to me. The tears keep falling from my eyes. "Mum" I call her name. "Yeah baby girl?" she says. "I think Julie is in with that doctor" I say to her. Her eyes bug out. "Are you sure?" she asks.

I nod my head at her. "Yeah I am pretty sure. The threat from the park that day was that Ryan should be taken off me and Tyson. Now Ty has been taken out of the picture, the doctor when asked how much he was being paid from Julie, scoffed and slammed the door" I tell her. She moves to another chair and sits down. I can tell mum is thinking as she has that constipated look on her face.

"What was the doctors name?" she asks me. I shrug my shoulders. "He never gave me his name. But he was a little bit taller than me, with grey hair and green eyes. He had a small freckle just above his left eyebrow" I tell her what I remember of his face. She nods her head and gets up leaving the room.

I go back to just cuddling into Ryan when Lacy comes in. She takes him from my arms and gives me the look. I get up and she takes the chair I just vacated. "How's my little man?" she asks. I shrug my shoulders. "He was awake when I came in and as soon as I cuddled him, he went back to sleep. Lace I'm scared" I tell her. Tears filling my eyes again.

"Misty, Tyson is not hurting Ryan. You know it, I know it, everyone knows it. This is some disgusting plan of someone who is trying to ruin your life. But trust me Mis. As soon as we find out who it is, they are going to wish they never fucked with the wrong family" Lacy says with a look of determination on her face.

I know Lacy will go through with anything she says. She will not sit on the sideline and watch, she will jump in and throw punches with the best of them. I just watch her with Ryan. I can see the love she has for him. We are waiting in the room when a new doctor walks in. He looks at Lacy, "Are you the mother of this young man" he asks he. She shakes her head no and points to me. "Oh sorry ma'am" he says to me.

"My name is Doctor Rogers. I heard you wanted a second opinion on your sons injuries" he says to me. I nod my head yes. "Can you tell me how me Ryan's injuries came about?" he asks. I try to tell him the reason. "Sorry doctor, I wasn't there when it happened but what I was told, was that he was jumping on the couch and when his father went to grab him, he missed and Ryan fell off the couch hitting his head on the coffee table" I tell the doctor.

He looks at the scans in the room and reads the file. "So what you have told me adds up to the injuries. Why did you ask for a second opinion?" he asks me. "Because the first doctor said that my son was being abused" I tell him honestly. He looks at me with confusion. "His original doctor is one of the most talented doctors in this hospital. I don't think he would say that" he says with uncertainty. I look at him in shock.

"I'm sorry Doctor Rogers, but that other doctor has had Ryan's father arrested on the grounds of child abuse. He was rude towards me when he called for my sons family and threw around his weight acting like I am also abusing my son. Ryan's father and I worship the ground that little boy walks on" I tell him. I can see his eyes change with emotions.

"I'm so sorry about that Mrs. Granger" he says. I don't fix up his mistake at my name, knowing one day I will be Mrs. Granger. I nod my head at him. "I will go and talk to the heads of the department and see what we can do about Ryan's father" he says and leaves the room. Lacy and I look at each other. Not even 5 minutes later mum comes back in the room. "So girls, who wants to go down to the police station with me and provide some evidence of a crazy psycho woman handing an envelope to a particular doctor?" she says with a smile as wide as her face.

Lacy and I look at each other again. "Go Misty. Go and get your man out of jail and bring him back here to his son" Lacy says to us. Mum grabs my hand and pulls me out of the room, dragging me down the hallway towards the front entrance.

Laura POV

I knew something was dodgy when Misty was telling me what had happened with that doctor. So being the awesome mumma I am. I found the doctor and stalked him around the hospital. I probably shouldn't have but I don't really care right now. My son in law is sitting in a jail cell for no reason. He didn't hurt his son. He would never hurt his son.

I follow the doctor down another hallway. No idea where I am going, I just keep sticking to the shadows. I have watched enough crime shows to know how to do this. Once he thinks he is far enough away he pulls out his phone and calls someone. "It is done. He was taken away. I will make sure the mother is next" he says. I can't hear what the other person is saying though. "What about the mother's family?" he asks the person on the phone. "Ok I will see you soon. I am in the hallway outside of room 405" he says.

I stay hidden in the shadows and wait. I just hope to god I don't need to cough or sneeze. I grab my phone from my pocket and turn it on silent. I get a message from Jason, asking where I am. I just give him a short answer of stalking a s.o.b. Hopefully he won't ask any more questions. Just when I go to put my phone away, I can hear someone walking down the hallway from the opposite direction I am in.

I take a quick peek out and see Tyson's mother. I open up the camera on my phone and start taking photos. I think to myself 'I should record this shit' so I quickly flip it from stills to video. I press record, trying to keep my breathing down as low as possible.

"So Tyson is locked up you say?" Julie says to the doctor. He nods his head. "Thank fuck for that. He will rot away in prison for the way he has treated me. Now we just have to get the little slut of a mother away from the child and I will raise him and make sure he never becomes like his father" she says. "I will get her away from him, but it won't be a pretty thing that I have to do" the doctor says. She looks at him and nods, handing over a large manilla envelope. "Do what you have to. I want that little boy, and I want him soon" she says, then turns around and leaves.

The doctor starts heading off in the same direction as Julie making sure to keep his distance. I keep watching them until they are out of my sight. I turn on my heels and make a run for it back the way we came. I got lost a handful of times but luckily never got caught by the dodgy doctor or his crazy psycho friend.

Once I got back into Ryan's room, I can see that Misty and Lacy are confused about why I am out of breath. "So girls, who wants to go down to the police station with me and provide some evidence of a crazy psycho woman handing an envelope to a particular doctor?" I say to them. They look at each other when Lacy tells Misty to go. I grab her arm and pull her out behind me. Not wasting any time.

"Mrs. Granger" someone calls. My heart rate picks up and we slowly turn to see a doctor approaching us. "Sorry to keep you waiting Mrs. Granger, but I spoke to the department leader and he doesn't know why your husband was arrested. The injuries are for sure caused by the event that happened. We would like to offer out sincere apologies. My leader is on the phone with the police department right now, hoping to get your husbands charges dropped" he says.

I can feel Misty blow out a breath of relief. "Thank you so much doctor. I was actually on my way to the police station now. My mother has evidence on who was behind making up the false claims against my husband so we are going to go and get him out now" I tell him. He nods his head. "My husband will be in the room soon with his grandson and my other daughter is in there now. We won't be long" I say to the doctor. With a curt wave, Misty and I make our way out of the hospital to my car.
