Misty POV
Wow, just wow. Crazy times being had by all around here. Tyson and I are in and out of court nearly every day with his mother and the doctor's cases. But there has been a bit of fun in the middle of all this. Ryan has turned 2. He is now a big boy, in his own words. And with that, mum and Jason, have celebrated their first wedding anniversary.
Lacy and I sent them out for the night and we both watched Brock. He is such an awesome little guy. He sleeps all night and plays all day. Ryan loves when he is awake cause they can play together. Ryan is an amazing big nephew to his uncle. Even though they still don't know what that means. Look, half the time I don't even know what it means. I am just as clueless.
Today is Monday. It is my turn to take the stand at the courthouse. Mum and Jason are both staying home to watch the kids. Tyson is coming with me and Lacy is stuck at school. Sucks to be her. I am over having to tell my story again and again. I am hoping this is the last time I will have to speak about it. I know in myself that I am ready to just move on. I would say Tyson is the same.
Tyson and I arrive at the courthouse and are met by our lawyer. He is a cocky bastard but with the way he works, we will have no problems winning this case and getting a clean break from the psycho and her followers. "You ready for this Misty?" He asks me. "As ready as I'll ever be" I answer. "Come on, once you have said what you needed to say you can get down off the stand and that'll be it" he says with his cocky grin. Sometimes I would just love to wipe that grin off his face.
Walking into the court room, Tyson and I sit in the first row of chairs just behind our lawyer. He keeps talking to us while we wait for the judge. Tyson's mother is lead in with shackles on. She looks right at us and smirks. Another one who I wouldn't mind wiping the smug look off their face. Not long after she was bought in, the doctor was also lead in, with shackles on his arms and feet.
I have absolutely no sympathy for either of them. The doctor's wife is sitting in the court room near us. She has tears in her eyes and I can hear her sob from here. I do feel a bit sorry for her through all of this. It isn't her fault her husband is a piece of shit. The court room fills up pretty quickly. This case has been all over the local news stations. I am pretty sick and tired of not being able to walk down the street without being asked questions.
The bailiff announces us to all rise. The judge walks in and tells us to sit down again. I can feel the sweat start to pool up on my hands. I rub them on my pants. Tyson wraps his arm around my shoulder and kisses my temple. He was on the stand on Friday and now it is my turn.
My lawyer calls me up to the stand. I stand up and take a deep breath before moving towards the front. I swear to tell the truth and take a seat. My lawyer starts asking me questions that I am able to answer honestly and truthfully. The questions relate to the accident with Ryan and everything that was said to me and by me.
Once my lawyer was happy he sat back down and the defence lawyer stood up. I can already tell that he is going to try and discredit my testimony. "Miss Richardson, have you seen my clients before?" he asks me. I look at him "yes" I answer. "Who are they?" he asks. "The lady is Julie Granger. The man is Andrew Samuels" I respond. "How do you know my clients?" "Mrs. Granger is my partners mother and the Doctor was the first doctor I saw when my son had his accident" I respond.
"Is it true that your partner is a drug user?" he asks. "No it is not true. He is not a drug user" I answer. "But he was caught with drugs correct?" he says. "I don't understand what you are trying to say?" I question him. "Your partner was sent away to his grandparents farm because he was caught with drugs on him. So you would assume he is a drug user, correct?" "No that is not correct. He was caught with drugs that were not his. Someone had placed them in his pocket so they would not have been caught when the police showed up. He is not a drug user. You are more than welcome to do a drug test on him to prove that he is clean" I answer him.
