Tyson POV
It has been a couple of weeks since Misty and I found out we were expecting another baby. The trip to the doctors was nerve wracking. But after seeing the doctor and he did all the checks that needed to be done, he told us the pregnancy was very healthy. Misty just needs to calm down and try not to stress too much. Easier said than done, we all know.
Everything is going fantastic at the moment. Ryan is thriving. Misty is getting closer to being out of her first trimester. Laura and Jason are as strong as ever. Lacy is starting to get back her spunk that she lost after that shit stain hurt her and Brock is just a little heartbreaker already.
But today is the day Jason and I are going out to buy that ring I need. I am hoping for a good shopping trip and one where I can come home and just ask her. I don't want a special night planned. Every night with Misty is special.
Jason has dragged me into 4 different jewellery stores. Not one ring has stood out to me. Not one screamed "Misty" to me. I am beginning to think this is hopeless. I just wanted to be able to walk into a store and buy the first ring I saw. I am looking at gold, rose gold, white gold. I even looked at sterling silver but nothing. Absolutely nothing at all.
"Mate, how about we grab a bite to eat. We can start again after food" Jason says to me. I agree. Maybe a burger will help me refocus and find the ring that Misty deserves. We make our way to the closest burger joint and order our meals. Taking a seat once our food was ready Jason started the conversation.
"Ty, what exactly are you looking for?" Jason asks. I shrug my shoulders. "I am looking for a ring that screams out Misty's name. I need to find something that she will love to wear for the rest of her life" I tell him. Jason humms his response. "Jason, how did you know you had found the ring for Laura?" I ask me.
Jason takes a minute to think over his answer. "It was exactly what you are thinking. I found a ring that called out Laura's name. I knew as soon as I saw it, it was Laura's ring" he says. I knew I was on the right track when trying to find the ring for Misty. We finish our lunch and start the trek again. Jason takes me back into the stores we had already been in. Now that my belly is full and my brain is refocused, I am going to try this again.
The first store had nothing. Well nothing that stood out to me. The second and third store were the same. I was starting to lose my patience in these stores. "Tyson, come on mate, there has to be something. If you can't find anything in this store we will be going home" Jason says. We are walking in the fourth store again.
I take my time looking at all the rings when it hits me. "This one" I say to Jason, pointing at a white gold solitaire cut diamond. "Hallelujah" Jason cries out. I give his shoulder a nudge. The sales consultant comes over and tells me it is a great choice, takes it from display and pops in it a box. I pay for the ring and put it away in my pocket. Not being stupid, I paid for it from my bank account, not the one I shared with Misty. I don't need her knowing that I have bought this.
Jason and I leave the store with my purchase and get into the car. "So when are you planning on asking her?" Jason asks. "As soon as we get home" I tell him. "Can't wait?" he responds. "Oh fuck no. The sooner that woman is my wife, the sooner my life will be complete" I tell Jason honestly. The smile that graces his face could make any man, woman or child's heart melt. Thank the lord I don't swing that way.
When we arrive home, Jason pats my shoulder. "Good luck bud" he says. Taps my arse, "Go get her" he tells me. I laugh at him and take off for my place. I open the door and see Misty with her back to me in the kitchen. I close the front door softly and drop to my knee. I clear my throat so Misty will turn around.
"I know I am meant to have this amazing speech prepared and I was meant to take you out for dinner and have a special night planned, but every night and day for that matter are special because I have you in my life" I take a breath. "Misty Lee, ever since the day I met you, I knew that you were someone special who I needed in my life. You have taught me to love myself and others around me. I know it's not all roses for us, but for me, you are all the roses I need in this world"
