The Battle of Utgard Castle

I watched helplessly as the four more experienced soldiers attacked the titans that were surrounding us. I wanted to do something, I wanted to help somehow. I was slightly in awe as they took down some of the titans. They flew through the air gracefully, Gelgar and Nanaba landed on the side of the wall and yelled at each other for a couple of seconds. Gelgar's second defeated a titan that was on the floor and then came back up to us on the top. 

"Titans are in the castle. Get below and improvise some sort of barricade," finally something to do, "be careful retreat back up here only as a last resort. Now hurry, the rest of us will keep any more from getting in" with that we had our orders. She looked behind her and saw more titans coming toward the tower, "we're heavily outnumbered, there are more coming but by god, we will fight until our last breath. Our heart and soul to the cause, right?" We nodded, this was the first time I admired her optimism, it was inspirational at this point and I was ready to be on the defense. We all turned and began to run in the tower.

Reiner ran ahead of us and grabbed a torch that was on the wall, "I'll go see how far in they've gotten, you find something to board up the entrance!" he ordered us, I rolled my eyes a bit, could always count on Reiner to go ahead, "Reiner wait" I shouted, "What the hell?" continued Connie, "Hang on we're coming, wait up Reiner!" Bertholdt yelled after him picking up his pace, "are you kidding me? why's he always gotta be the first one to step up? give us a break!" Connie shouted. Bertholdt smiled to himself a bit, "yeah I know, it's a nasty habit of his, " we kept running after Reiner.

"They're in the tower, get down here and help me" We heard Reiner yell from down the staircase. I picked up my pace and ran towards his voice. I finally saw him against a door, a titan arm coming out of it, he looked scared, very unlike his typical confident demeanor. Then he dodged the titan's arm that was about to grab him and fell onto the staircase. Bertholdt had appeared next to me carrying a spear. He took a couple of extra seconds to get prepared. He swung the spear down and hit the titan directly in the eye. Reiner helped him push the spear deeper into the titan's eye. I ran over and grabbed more of the spear to help them.

"Listen to me man, are you good?" Bertholdt asked Reiner, who had a determined glint in his eye, "We're going home, this is not how we die!" Reiner shouted at Bertholdt, I smirked and Bertholdt did too, "I know, you're damn right," Bertholdt replied. 

"Guy's head's up! Incoming!" We heard Ymir yell from the top of the staircase. I turned around and saw them with a cannon, "where the hell did you find that?" I yelled, "Doesn't matter, good work, is there ammo?" Reiner asked

"Yeah right if only," Ymir yelled back, her and Connie trying to push the cannon, "it was pure luck that we found this. Get out of the way" They pushed the cannon down the stairs and Reiner pulled me out of the way, Bertholdt followed us. We watched as the cannon smashed through the wall. The doorway was smashed and it was quiet as the dust settled. 

"May miracles never cease," Ymir said

"We're lucky that was a little one," I said, crossing my arms, brushing the dust off myself. I looked over at Connie who was staring wide-eyed at a knife, "all we have is this knife now, what do we do? should we cut the nape?" 

"Don't risk it, you could get grabbed or  you'll get hurt," Reiner advised him

"I think it's best if we all head back upstairs now," Christa said, turning to walk up the stairs, "we have no way of knowing if that is the only one who got in" then she stopped dead in her tracks, oh no, I turned around and saw a titan getting up right behind Connie. I think he heard it because he turned around to face it, "Connie" Christa yelled. The titan's jaws opened and lurched towards Connie. I tried to jump towards him but Reiner beat me to it. He jumped in the middle of them and pushed Connie and the Titan's jaw out of the way of each other. The titan snapped back and bit Reiner's arm, "Reiner, no" Christa yelled, I gasped and covered my mouth with my hand. Ymir held her back from running down the stairs, Bertholdt gasped. We all stared in awe for just a second as the titan's jaw clamped down on Reiner's arm. Then Reiner stood up and put the titan on his back and started to walk towards the window. I was amazed by his strength, his ability to carry a titan a couple of feet taller than him on his back was incredible
