"Is she okay?" asked a voice.

Another voice remarked, "It's the lastest she slept. Should we go in and check on her?"

The third voice claimed, "We'll just wait."

Briar rolled over on her bed and opened her eyes.  When Briar was sleeping she could hear from miles away or the drop of a tiny pin. She peeked at the time of her unicorn shaped alarm clock and realized it was 3 in the afternoon. Her eyes went wide in shock and she jumped up from the bed. It was bad enough that she had narcolepsy because of her destiny, but sleeping till 3 P.M. was a big bad no-no! Her Mirror phone kept vibrating. She leaned over at her silver nightstand and noticed she had so many hexts and missed calls! Briar groans as she scrolls through them all. They were basically sympathy hexts asking if she was okay or how is she handling it.

She quickly got dressed in her Signature outfit and walked out her room.  The maids scurried off to do their work. Briar wasn't really in the mood to talk to them anyway.  Only 2 more weeks until August 9th, her birthday. Usually, Briar would be crazy if her birthday was less than a month away, but this time it was different. Her 18th birthday would probaly be her last. Her father had already burned all spinning wheels in the kingdom. In her head the moment Faybelle casting her curse repeats itself. Then the battle, Faybelle being knocked out cold. After Sapphire, daughter of Merryweather, changing the curse, so she would wake up if she gets her true love's kiss. "Briar?" said a voice.

She whirls around and it's just her younger brother, Gallantly. It always amused Briar how her brothers were named after adjectives to describe a dashing prince. Gallantly had meant bravery. "Yes?" asked Briar.

Gallantly hugged his sister tightly and states, "I don't want you to go."

Briar smiled, trying to hide her own sadness, "Me neither. Come on. Let's spend some time together and play in the rose bush maze!"

Gallantly nodds and he and Briar walk to the gardens and enter the maze. "I don't know where's the exit," squeaked Gallantly after Briar suggested he lead the two.

Gallantly had the same chestnut brown hair like Briar and it was combed back. His eyes were chestnut brown too. He wore on a dark blue vest with a white shirt under and black pants on. A small silver crown was on his head. "How about we take a break?" Briar insisted, "My heels are killing my feet."

Gallantly agreed and the two sat down at the nearest stone bench in the maze.  Briar smiled at her brother, "Gallantly, be brave. I need your help to watch me when it's my birthday. I have no idea what spell can make me sleep."

Gallantly nods, "I'm making sure you don't say goodbye to us."

"Goodbye not!" Briar remarks.

"Yeah!" agrees Gallantly, "Goodbye not! I'll make sure everyone watches you."
