The group was getting everything packed up and loaded into the cars to move into the house. Rick and a few of the others were standing with him and Hershel talking as addy hopped around just in front of them, picking things up off the ground then dropping them when she gets distracted by something else.

Rick smiled at her as he looked back up at Hershel "it's gonna be tight. 14 people in one house." Hershel shook his head as he also watched addy playing while saying "don't worry about that. With the swamp hardening, the creek drying up.." Maggie agreed as she continued "with 50 head of cattle on the property, we might as well be ringing the damn dinner bell."

At the mention on dinner, addy's head shot up towards them "food?" They all trying to conceal their laughs at that catching her attention. Hershel smirked and continued on from Maggie "she's right, we should've moved you in a while ago."

Rick turned to his group "all right, let's move the vehicles near each of the doors facing out toward the road. We'll build the lookout in the windmill, another in the barn loft. That should give us sight lines both sides of the property. T-dog, you take the perimeter around the house. Keep track of everyone coming and going."

T-dog nodded "what about standing guard?" Rick replied "I need you and Daryl on double duty." T-dog nodded as he watched addy quickly run up and grab on ricks pants looking up at them "gotcha" he said as he patted her head before walking off.

Rick looked down at addy to see her looking at him with puppy dog eyes "daddy, you say food, where food?" Rick laughter at that still being on her mind. Hershel laughed and stepped up to the pair "you guys have a lot of work to do out here. How about I take her inside, feed her and keep her distracted inside." Rick nodded "that's a good idea. Safer then her being out here in the open while everyone is busy."

Hershel nodded and bent down to pick addy up." Alright little miss. How about we feed that little tummy monster for you?" She giggled and started making rawring noises as they headed off to the house. Rick shook his head with a smirk at the pair as he started helping everyone.

Hershel stopped and turned back to call out "I'll stock the basement with food and water while we're inside. Enough that we can all survive a few days if need be." Rick nodded to him as Andrea walked up to him "what about petrols?" Rick turned to her "let's get this area locked down first. After that, Shane's assign shifts while me and Daryl take Randall off site and cut him loose."

Rick looked right at Shane as he said this, knowing he wasn't going to be happy with what he was hearing. Shane shook his head as rick was about to walking away "we're back to that now?" Rick turned back to him ready for an argument "it was the right plan first time around. Poor execution" Shane mumbled "that's a slight understatement"

Rick still heard him clearly though and stepped closer to him "you don't agree, but this is what's happening. Swallow it. Move on." Shane shook his head and stared Rick right in the eyes "you know that dale's death and the prisoner. That's two separate things, right?" They both stared each other down now as Shane continued "you want to take Daryl as your wingman, be my guest". Rick shook his head and replied smartly as he walked away "thank you." Shane didn't even bother to look at him as he said "you got it."

...

After they had all finished packing and moving everything over, Hershel walked back out onto the porch with addy as they saw rick on the steps. Addy had an apple in her hand and held it up to him so he could take a bite. Rick smiled and bent down and bit into the apple "thank you baby. You being good?" She just nodded her head and she chewed on a piece of apple in her mouth.

Hershel looked at rick and stated "I see why your not taking Shane with you. Just know I've got no more patience where he's concerned." Rick tried to keep things peaceful since he didn't want the group to fracture "he's turning over a new leaf" he saw the way Hershel looked at him and knew he was skeptical. He was too.
