Ari's POV
"Hey Carla." I say giving a small wave as I enter the school meeting Carla by the door way.
"Hey Ari, how've you been?."she asks and I notice how different and less chirpy she seems to be, making me feel more guilty.
"Good." I reply shortly.
"I was worried you wouldn't speak to me again." She says, her mood deeming more. I suck in air to calm myself before I reply.
"I'm sorry about snapping at you the other day Carla, I was stressed and chose a very wrong way to react and-" I don't get to finish as she attacks me with a hug.
"Oh shut up I'm just glad we're still friends."she says relief washing over both of us.
"But maybe next time don't push me away like that, I was just worried."she says
"I won't, I'm sorry." I say feeling a lot better now knowing our friendship is still intact.
"Okay, now that's settled let's get ready for our daily torture before I succumb to my inner demons telling me to run off to any close by diner rather than sit through the torture." She says and begins pulling me without waiting for my reply. Now that's the Carla I know.
*************
So far school has been calm, I've been able to avoid any contact with Eden so far, no bumping with Eric who has also been scarce, and no school problems generally so all is good at the moment.
Heading for my third period which I have free and always use for libary, I'm halted by the slight comotion in the library as every where seems to be a bit unsettled, which is weird as the library is usually quiet.
"He was practically looking for trouble talking to him like that knowing his reaction would be far from calm." I hear someone say as I stand by the door. The place being so crowded is something I can't stand, it really terrifies me.
Deciding I don't want to know what happened, I decide to look for another place to get on with my assignments.
I find myself heading towards the schools back once again, It definitely will do I guess. Once there, I settle myself on ground halting when I hear something or someone, it seems I'm not the only one here.
Getting up again, leaving my bag and books behind, I go further to find out who was here and if the person is OK because the breathing I'm hearing seems to be heavy and harsh. I stop thinking maybe I shouldn't go over since I've never been good with people, but decide to go see who it is then go call for help if needed.
I finally see the back of the person, his head is pressed against the wall while his hands are gripping his hair, and I notice the bruise and blood stains and I take a shaky step back as I suddenly have a bad feeling about this.
But before I can begin my retreat his head snaps to face me, gracing me with dark blue eyes, darker than usual though, Eric.
"What are you looking at?" He asks not moving from his position, his voice is deadly but quiet.
"U-uh I-I well." I stop knowing there's no way I'll be able to form any sentence with how scared I am at the moment.
But I notice when his hands finally let's go of his hair as he himself from the wall partially straightens, his hands are shaking and he looks at them squeezing them together trying to stop it but puts them into his sweatpants pocket when he fails.
Looking back at me, I realize I haven't left yet and he doesn't look like he approves of that.
"Get out!" He says with a sharp extra scary tone and I don't need to be told twice as I sprint in the opposite direction till I'm inside the school walls again.
