Marleigh's P.O.V.:
"Noah..." I said, trying to organize my thoughts.
"Marleigh, I know you feel it too..." He said, resting his hands on my waist, pulling me into him.
Oh, what the hell.
I stood on my tip toes and I felt his grip on me tighten. I wrapped my arms around his neck and he lifted me slightly off the ground. We looked into each other's eyes for a moment before our lips cut off the tension we both felt as they reunited.
I felt like fireworks were going off, but that was just in my head.
His lips moved in sync with mine and my legs wrapped around his waist as his arms held me tighter and closer to him.
Austin popped into my head and I pulled away, gasping at what we had just done.
"What's wrong?" He asked, worried.
"I did it again..." I frowned.
"Marleigh..." He sighed, putting me back on the ground, "You have to know that this is what you want... You don't want Austin anymore, he doesn't treat you the way you deserve."
"I love him..." I said quietly.
"No you don't..." He said, frustrated, "You love what you used to be, Marleigh... Austin will never be the guy he was before. His ego is way too big and he's never going to be happy with settling for you."
"Settling for me?" I furrowed my eyebrows and took a step back.
"That's not what I meant, it came out wrong," He said, running his fingers through his hair, "I don't know how else to show you..."
"Show me what?" I asked, confused.
"That you deserve better!! You deserve a guy who will treat you like a queen, Marleigh!! Austin will never be that for you, how can you not see that?! I see it, and I'm sure a lot of other people would see it too if they knew how many times he's cheated on you!! You can't keep letting him get away with it!!" He raised his voice, almost making me flinch.
"I won't." I said, quietly but determined.
"I don't believe you." He said, shaking his head and walking towards the house.
I just let him go on his own. I don't want to chase after him. Maybe he needs time to cool down.
I sat down in one of the lounge chairs and just sat there silently, trying to collect my thoughts. I really like Noah, but I love Austin... But I can't help the gravitational pull I feel towards Noah... I really need to figure this out because I keep fucking everything up.
* * * * *
It was cold when I felt myself being shaken lightly, the same way I was earlier. When I opened my eyes, it was dark, but the sky was full of stars.
I fell asleep in the lounge chair because I didn't want to face Noah... I didn't even know he was still here.
"Marleigh, it's late... Just come inside already." He said, quietly.
"I'm okay." I sighed, curling my legs up to my chest because I was cold.
"I'm sorry for losing my shit earlier, I just..." He tried to find the right words to say.
"I know, Noah..." I frowned, "You don't have to apologize."
"Please come inside." He asked again.
"I'm really okay." I said as I shivered.
"Marleigh..." He was starting to get frustrated.
"Noah, I want to give you your space..." I admitted.
