Once they had closed the air vent, they crawled to a larger section of ventilation and Annabeth opened her spatial storage. "Get in. You'll be safe. I promise."
"But what about you?"
"Do you think your great uncle Rich would send an operative to retrieve you if they couldn't get you out?"
"Yes." Was the simple answer before Marina crawled into the storage. Once that was done, the storage window closed and now Annabeth only had to worry about saving her own ass.
She took a few breaths and backtracked her way through the ventilation, but she could hear the guards checking the vents as she kept crawling through them. "They have to be close! Keep searching!"
She crawled up four levels and exited in the medical wing uniform closet. She quickly changed and put on a mask, walking through her path she had marked. So many different inconveniences. She was supposed to be being discreet. At least the body count was only two at the moment.
She sighed as she reached the elevator and traveled down three levels, entering a storage room, and pushing open a hidden panel. She breathed a sigh of relief as she closed the maintenance hallway access panel. It was empty, and quiet.
She took a moment. She checked the timer. There was another counter next to it that wasn't there before. It was a percentage. She ran a diagnostic of this and found it was connected to an auto return relay. It was currently at 51% and climbing.
She still needed to get out of there before she was captured and killed though. She followed the maintenance hallway until she reached an access hatch. She took the ladder and slid down what she thought to be 200 feet of ladder before coming to a halt and going down the last stretch of maintenance. She burst through the vent. 53%
One fun fact about this section of the space station. They hadn't added security measures this far down yet. She changed her appearance and came out in the space stations kitchen. Or at least one of four. She donned a cooking uniform and began to wait out her extraction time by cooking.
As the counter kept going up, she had time to eat. She even made lunch to take back with her. She ducked and acted as if she was getting more ingredients. When security made a round through the kitchens. After they had passed by, she ditched the uniform and made her way back to the cargo bay she initially entered from.
She had to stop in the hallway and duck behind a segment of space station conduits. There was an armed guard outside the room and a mobile security camera had been set up. She cursed her luck and data flowed behind her eyes as she remotely accessed the stations mainframe, triggering alarms in various sections, tying up security personnel elsewhere. 79%
It didn't seem to matter how many alarms she tripped, the guard wasn't moving. She searched her own database on matter manipulation and a set of sub routines she hadn't had before activated. She thought 'pulse cannon' and her right hand changed. It was now in appearance a cannon. She thought EMP laser, and it changed again. 85%
Time was running out. She set it to wide range and put her hand around the corner, releasing the blast. It fried the camera and the guard's com link. It also disabled security on the entire floor, and a countdown to reboot started. "Now or never." She told herself as she came around the corner.
She moved quickly, knocking the gun out of the guard's hand as he lifted it to point at her. With her left hand she gave a quick hook to his jaw quickly followed by a straight right jab to the guard's chin, causing his head to hit the wall behind him, knocking him out. He slid to the ground, and she grabbed him by the collar, dragging him into the cargo bay where she hid his body. 93%
She opened the storage, taking out the two dead bodies and Marina. "Almost time. Just keep hold of my arm or hand."
Marina nodded and latched her hand around Annabeth's forearm. "Freedom. I wonder what it's like out there now." She had no idea how long she had been captured. Time in the space station didn't have a traditional take, and guards walked in. They saw the bodies. 98%
They quickly saw the glow coming from a corner and they opened fire. 98.5%
Annabeth's eyes glitched for a moment a panel opened in her neck and wrists. Her force field had been activated, and Marina screamed. 99%
The sound in the cargo bay was deafening. The green intensified, and then there was silence....
