Warning: Triggering, self harm

JADE

As she promised, it did not take long before Perrie drove me home. She was very mindful of me not being anxious about anything waiting for me at home. She gently led me to another of her cars in the garage and drove me home. All through the ride, I could not wipe the smile off my face, and I think she also had her smile permanently painted on her face. And all the way to the house,we were grinning like fools towards each other. It was in my teenage years when I met my first boyfriend when I felt like this, like a love fool. I was so glad that I decided to give this a try. I never thought that I would feel this way again ever since I closed my doors to relationships.

As soon as we pulled up to my place though, the blood in my veins froze to several degrees below the coldest ever recorded. My front door was open and Demi was out on the porch, clearly knocked out as a sack. I had to run out to her to check immediately.

"Demi!" I cradled her head in my arms while shaking her awake. She slowly came to, apparently dazed.

"Jade," she whispered. "Jesy...she..."

Upon hearing my sister's name, I started to panic. Something felt out of place here. "What happened?"

Demi touched the back of her head where she was bleeding, though not much. "Jesy hit me."

That alarmed me. I thought Jesy was not going to hurt her so I hired her. But clearly I was wrong. But it just does not seem right. I could barely believe that this happened at all.

"I...I tried to stop her from going out, but she hit me. I'm sorry Jade." Demi put her head in her hands. "I don't think I could still do this. My life is put at risk now, and I have to fear for myself too."

"I..." I see this a big loss. Even though Demi kind off ticked me off with her initial flirtatious acts towards my girlfriend, I warmed up to her by the way she has been taking care of Jesy. And now I'm caught in a dilemma between asking her to stay or letting her go because of what she claims Jesy did tonight.

"Please, Jade. I do care about Jesy, believe me." Demi went on as we entered the house.

"Tell me what happened." I tried to steel up. I need Perrie to keep me standing, my legs feel like noodles as my head started to spin in the stress this has caused me in just a couple minutes. I knew she was right behind me, or probably had some trouble with parking again. Demi dropped herself on the couch. "Well, I was bringing her bread and I noticed that her room was open, but she wasn't there. So I came down here to check if she had wanted anything, and saw her slinking out the front door. When I tried to stop her, she hit me in the face."

That sounded weird. If she was hit in the face, why is it that she had the bleeding at the back of her head.

Demi sighed. "I was so shocked that I stepped back, hit the door with my back, which she followed up by grabbing me and hitting my head on the door again, and that's all I could remember."

I pressed on the bridge of my nose in anxiety. I'm torn on whether to believe Demi's claim. Then, I realized that she said Jesy had tried going out before hitting her. And if Demi is telling the truth, then, Jesy could have gotten away. I turned to the stairs and ran.

"Jesy! Jesy are you there?" I started to tear up at the thought that she had wanted to leave already. And it was all confirmed when I saw her room open, and I can't see any shadows in there nor any movement when I got closer. Jesy had left. I felt the nausea come over, and I could not help the blur that I saw last before blackness swallowed me.

PERRIE

I heard Jade calling Jesy from inside as I entered the house. I already knew something was wrong by the way we saw Demi lying on the porch when we arrived. I quickly ran in, following the sound. Demi just looked at me apologetically,I had not a moment enough to acknowledge anything she wanted to say, not to be rude, though.

"Babe!" I called as I reached the top of the stairs, just in time for me to see Jade falling unconscious. Even though I have so many times witnessed her in that kind of state, it still horrifies me to the bone. I could say I somehow panic inside me.

Reflex was rendered useless as there was some several feet between us and stretch as I might my arms,I failed to cushion her head in the collapse. And came after then was the loud thud of body hitting the floor, sending a vibration to where my feet stood. I could only be grateful for the carpet over the wood of the floor, otherwise the impact would be so much worse on her head. Nonetheless, there was some bleeding. Her stitched up forehead is once again spouting blood.

"Jade!" there was no hiding the panic with the shake in my voice as I tried to collectedly aid to her. She was fully out like a light, and I don't even know if she broke something with the fall. Now I don't know how to move her, unlike before. Maybe it's the bleeding from the stitched up wound that caused me to panic more than last time. Or maybe it was last time's rage that made me blind to the alarming sight. Whatever it was, I have no care at the moment. I needed to know what to do. I quickly fished out my phone from my trousers pocket and dialed.

But before I could speak to someone on the other end, I felt Jade turn and then, getting up straight and running into Jesy's room. Alarmed, I dropped the phone, it could have gotten broken, but I don't care. My girl is more important to me than a 5 inch screen.

"Baby!" she was just about to slam the door closed but I was able to dive in and force it to reopen.

And what confused me most was that she had started dragging on one foot, and one arm hung limp at her side, while she was throwing whatever she could pick from the shelves and tables, right at me.

"Jadey!" I called dodging whatever solid object was flying at me. Why was she throwing things at me anyway? "Jade!"

She shook her head indicating a "no!". Her seemingly only functioning arm flew to her neck and she gasped, no, she was trying to speak but no voice was coming out, and tears have started rolling down her face in a torrent. And when I looked in her eyes, I did not see my lovely Jade! It was someone else.

"Oh God!" she picked up a pair of scissors from the vanity table and without any hesitation, stuck it into her side.

"NO!" I crossed the distance between us as she lost her balance, and when I was close enough, there was moment I was staring straight into what seemed as empty eyes. For a few moments, she stared right back at me, frozen, except for the change in her pupils, before falling unconscious for the second time tonight.
