"Hope is a dangerous thing—it asks you to believe in tomorrow, even when yesterday broke your heart."

Katherine groaned loudly, burying her face deeper into the pillow as voices drifted up from downstairs.
Someone was laughing.
Someone else was shouting.
Pans clattered together in the kitchen below.
She dragged the duvet over her head.
"If whoever's making that noise doesn't stop..." she mumbled sleepily, "...I'm hexing them."
"It's Molly," Hermione's exhausted voice replied from somewhere across the room. "Unless you're planning on hexing Mrs Weasley, I suggest you get up."
Katherine cracked one eye open.
Hermione looked just as dreadful as she felt.
Her usually neat hair had escaped its braid during the night and now resembled a bird's nest, dark circles sat beneath her eyes, and she looked as though she'd slept for perhaps an hour at most.
Ginny wasn't much better.
She was sprawled upside down across the opposite bed, one arm dangling towards the floor while quietly groaning every few seconds.
"My head..."
Harry's voice drifted through the open doorway.
"...why is the house spinning?"
Ron answered from somewhere nearby.
"I think that's just you."
"It definitely isn't."
Katherine couldn't help letting out a tired laugh before immediately regretting it.
The movement sent another wave of pain through her bruised back.
Combined with the pounding inside her skull, she felt utterly miserable.
Hermione slowly sat up, rubbing both hands over her face.
"We deserve this."
"We absolutely do," Ginny muttered into the mattress.
Katherine closed her eyes again.
"I vote we stay here."
"No."
"My back still hurts."
Hermione pointed towards her.
"That is actually valid."
Katherine smiled hopefully.
"So..."
"So you're still getting up."
Hermione threw the duvet off Katherine before she could protest.
"We are not spending the day hiding in this room because Fred is being an idiot."
Katherine frowned.
"He isn't an idiot."
"He absolutely is."
"He has reasons. He also has reasonable emotions."
Hermione folded her arms.
"And right now, he seems to have forgotten both."
Katherine sighed heavily.
"I don't want to see him."
