Miranda nodded her head and Leah death-stared her. She quietly got up and shrugged her shoulders. She waited outside the room for a minute and listened to what they said about her. She heard silence for a moment and Leah grunted.
“I feel so bad,” Leah stated. Darla and Sheila both looked at her strangely and she sat up. “Nobody deserves to be cheated on.”
“Are you getting soft?” Darla asked. She pursed her lips and Leah shrugged her shoulders. “Why do you care about the breakup? That doesn’t mean she needs to leave the group.”
“Jeremy’s my brother and I don’t want people to think that I put him up to this.” Miranda heard Leah moved and her body tensed. “She needs her friends right now, anyway. We’re obviously not there for her and the only people who understand our sense of humor is each other.”
“And Crystal…” Sheila stated.
Miranda didn’t stay to listen to the rest. She quickly left the house and sat in the car for a moment. What was going on with Leah lately? She’s been defending everybody. Miranda quickly shrugged and realized that she’s probably matured and doesn’t care about destroying other people’s lives.
Maybe she’s been missing Crystal lately.
Miranda rolled her eyes and couldn’t think of what else Leah would do those things for. Instead, she started her car and was ready to officially apologize to Suzie. She needed a friend and Suzie has always been her best friend. She just hoped that nothing changed between them.

“Sure, she’s a nice girl.” Kriey shrugged her shoulders and wiped the counter down. “Is this the last girl, then? I don’t want to do this again.” Joy nodded her head and looked over at Crystal who was distant. “No more boy drama, got it?”Crystal nodded yes and Joy grunted. Before Kriey turned to clock out, she gave Joy a warning look and went back. When she came out, the three sat by the counter for a while without talking.
"Why do I have to do it?” Kriey asked.
“More acting experience,” Joy stated. “You could list it under your credentials.”
“As what?” She was stubborn and didn’t necessarily want to break Jeremy and Avril up. “Theatre?”
“Live events and the title could be ‘Cheating Boyfriend’.” Kriey looked suspicious but she didn’t say anything to them. They seemed to have all of the answers to all of Kriey’s questions. Either they really needed her to do this or they had a lot of free time on their hands.
“Why are you so quiet, Crystal?” Crystal briefly looked up but went back to eating her baby carrots. When Kriey turned to Joy, she had another answer ready on the spot.
“Plan three was for Crystal to kiss Jeremy and some of her feelings sparked back up for him.”
“What about Lenny?” Kriey felt their gazes on her so she sighed and told them everything. “Faith and I are chemistry buddies. Even though she’s two years younger than me, she’s pretty smart.”
"Would you mind if she becomes part of the group?”
“I’m pretty sure she would put our heads on straight,” Kriey managed. “She’s the peacemaker and isn’t interested in boys yet. Or she just doesn’t show it yet.” When Kriey’s phone buzzed, she picked it up and nodded her head. “He took the bait. So, when do I act like I caught Jeremy in the act of cheating with Avril?”
“Whenever you see them. The sooner the better.”

Joy felt her cheeks flame and she knew that Crystal was going to tell the other girls about them talking, but it was just a talk. There was nothing-serious going on with them and if there was, Joy would allow it.
