The Illusion of Danger

Chapter 12

When their time was coming to a close, their position since changing to Mordecai on his back and Rocky cuddled up beside him with his cheek against the tuxedo's chest, Mordecai reached for his nightstand and grabbed his pocket watch so he could check the time.
Opening the front to show the clock's face, he snapped it shut again and looked down at the tabby.

"It's four-forty seven. It's time that I get up and prepare for work."
The black and white cat stated softly, rubbing Rocky's back lightly as a way to alert him and help motivate him to get up.
It had been a bit of a struggle for him to be in bed for so long rather than being productive. It was very out of the ordinary for him.

Although he was reluctant to get up, the tabby understood that a full day in bed was asking a lot from this man who always seemed to be on the go.
With a small groan, Rocky pushed himself up on his elbow.
"Thank you for the relaxing afternoon, I'm actually quite sad we have to part ways, but alas, such is a life of the modern era in the hustle and bustle of the city."
He was being dramatic all of a sudden. Rocky guessed it was from being stationary all day, his body was now officially restless.

"I can't make any promises, but we may have another chance in the future. Hopefully, it'll be on a day where there isn't any work nor chores to be done."
The black and white cat sighed, both hands free now; one rubbing his eye while the other grabbed his glasses.
"At least I know that I've had plenty of rest and that I will have no issues this evening in regards to fatigue."

Rocky's tail swished in excitement. He already couldn't wait until that happened.
"I'm looking forward to it regardless."
The tabby kissed the other man's cheek.

Mordecai proceeded to roll out of bed, stretching his arms, legs, and tail as he walked toward his wardrobe, then began undoing the top buttons of his pajama shirt.
He paused, however, and looked back at the tabby.
"I'd recommend you go to the washroom and change before leaving. Again, through this window."

Rocky nodded but didn't move. He wanted to see if the other man would take his shirt off in front of him.

Mordecai unfastened another button slowly and raised a brow when the tabby showed no signs of getting up and leaving.
"Mr. Rickaby... I would appreciate some privacy."
He stated bluntly, motioning to the door while keeping himself turned away.

"Worth a shot."
Rocky sighed audibly, then chuckled and sat up. Sliding off the bed, he walked over to Mordecai, rubbed his cheek on the tuxedo's, effectively sneaking a small peek of the white fur on the man's chest, and then headed out the door to the restroom to change himself.

Mordecai rolled his eyes and leaned into the bit of affection before following just to close the door behind the other, then proceeded to return to his wardrobe and started pulling a suit from the cabinet portion, then a red tie, handkerchief, cuff links, socks, and finally, garters for his sleeves and socks.
He laid everything out carefully over the bed, then began to fully undress to his undergarments.

Rocky made his way to the bathroom after standing outside the door in thought; undressing the tuxedo with his mind's eye. He shook his head vigorously.

'Stop it! You're disgusting! You've just met this man... for the most part' his inner voice trailed off trying to keep Rocky on track.

Once in the bathroom, he decided to use the facilities before getting changed. After washing his hands, he began to undo the buttons of his pajamas. He stripped down completely, unbeknownst to Mordecai, Rocky was not wearing any underwear in his spare pajamas. The tabby looked in the mirror to adjust his tie. When he figured he was presentable, the tabby made his way out to the parlor and sat down, waiting for Mordecai to come to tell him he was done so that he could make his way down the fire escape.
