The other day I shared a story of him
I laughed and waited for someone to respond
to what I had said and there was silence
Silent conversations exchanged between gazes
and it was then I realized, a sinking heaviness filling me, just how much I talked about the guy that I had last seen over six months ago.
My breath was caught and I brushed it off acting as if it never happened
I plastered on a smile feeling my face ache to crack into pieces
Healing takes time I tried to remind myself
being kind
But I still felt a deep pit within
