Chapter 48

"We'll see daddy na po, mommy?" Yvo asked.

"Yes, baby. But I must talk to daddy first before you will see him, okay?" I told him.

"Okay po." He smiled while looking at the plane's window.

Ilang oras na lang ay maglalanding na ang eroplano na sinasakyan namin.

Ayaw ni mommy sa plano kong bumalik sa Pilipinas bigla. It's still not safe for me. I turned off my phone when she didn't approve my plan but I was persistent.

Nakatulog na si Yvo pero ako ay mulat na mulat pa rin. Hindi ko alam ang dapat kong maramadaman sa mga oras na ito. There's a lot of what if's on my mind.

We land safely. Yvo was so excited that he jumped in happiness.

"Yey! I'll see daddy na!"

I smiled as I watched him. Seeing my son with that kind of emotion makes my heart melt. I don't care if it's not safe for me to comeback here. I'll risk my life for my son's happiness.

"Mommy, come on!" Hinila niya ako.

We rode in a taxi. Sinabi ko sa driver ang condo ni Rhys kung saan kami dati tumitira. I don't know if he's here or maybe he's on work. Sadly, Rhys was not there. Matagal na raw hindi tumutuloy doon si Rhys.

Yeah, 2 years na ang nakalipas self.

I've contacted Rheann. Doon muna kami tutuloy sa condo niya. She immediately replied. Susunduin niya kami sa labas ng condominium.

Naglalakad kami palabas ng mahagip ng mata ko si Rhys na naglalakad papunta sa sasakyan niya. He parked his car at the building in front of us. I was about to call him when I saw Agatha running towards his direction. She called his name while walking fast towards him. She say something to Rhys. They both smiled at each other. She kissed Rhys cheeks before waving goodbye. Rhys just smiled and then he opened his car's door. Umalis agad siya.

I was standing there unable to move. I don't know what to react.

What the hell is that?!

"Mommy! Ninang is here na." Yvo said.

"Uy ghorl! Ano nalula ka sa ganda ko?" Rheann said.

Pumasok kami ni Yvo sa sasakyan niya. Yvo was sitting at the backseat. I was sitting at the passenger seat. I looked at him. He was looking outside. Napatingin ako kay Rheann.

"I saw him." I whispered.

"Really?! Saan na si Rh—"

Pinalakihan ko siya ng mata. Sinenyasan ko siya na nasa likod lang si Yvo.

"What happened?" She whispered.

"I saw him with Agatha." I whispered back.

"So totoo yung rumors about them?"

"I don't know."

Para kaming tanga na nagbubulungan. Ayoko marinig ni Yvo, baka ano ang isipin ng bata. Mabuti na lang at hindi nakita ni Yvo kanina si Rhys. Kilala niya ang ama niya dahil lagi ko pinapakita sa kanya ang mga litrato namin ni Rhys. Yun nga lang tuwing sinasabi niya tatawag kami sa daddy niya sinasabi ko na magkaiba ang oras namin sa Pilipinas kaya tulog na ang daddy niya. Palaging ganun pero hindi naman nagrereklamo si Yvo. Natutuwa nga ako kasi sa mura niyang edad napaka-understanding na niya. Manang-mana talaga sa ama niya.

Nang makarating kami sa condo ni Rheann ay agad na humiga si Yvo sa kama niya.

"Yvo niyo pagod na." Rheann said before she laughed.

"Yvo, remove your shoes first." I told him and he immediately obliged.

Mabilis na nakatulog si Yvo. Siguro sa sobrang pagod sa byahe.

"Are you going to the event tonight?"

Napatingin ako kay Rheann.

"I have an invitation, dalhin mo. I also have an elegant dress  there that will surely suits you." She added.

"How about Yvo?"

"Don't worry about him. Ako na magbabantay sa kanya dito. Mag-iingat ka lang, you're still in danger. Baka may makakita sayo."

"Pahinga ka muna. Beauty rest ka." She said and chuckled. I rolled my eyes heavenwards but I obliged.

I prepared for the event. I put heavy makeup on my face so people can't easily recognize me. I sighed as I watched myself at the mirror. Rheann throws her car's key and I immediately catches it.

"Slay ghorl!"

I drove straight to the venue. I show my invitation card before entering the hall. Glamorous chandelier, cozy theme, lots of businessmen and women, and a soft rhythm of music. I looked around trying to find Rhys but I can't spot him here. Later on the media's started to make noise as someone entered the hall. It was Rhys... with Agatha who clings in him. I suddenly felt something in my chest.

Nakipag-usap pa sila sa mga bumabati sa kanila na mga business partners and other businessmen.

Nakapwesto sila sa harap ng lamesang kinatatayuan ko. Agatha was just right in front of me but I cn only see her back. She's wearing a silver long gown.

They were laughing and I can spot Rhys smiling as he talks together with the other people in their table.

Later on the program starts. Tutok na tutok ako sa pagsasalita ni Rhys. He greeted everyone before he starts speaking about his success in business world. People were clapping everytime they found something amazing in Rhys speach.

"Having this kind of opportunity in business world is priceless. It's tiring but worth it." Sabi niya.

He looked around before his eyes landed on me but it was quick. Binawi niya agad ang tingin niya at patuloy na nagsalita. Maybe he was looking at Agatha. Na sa harapan ko lang si Agatha at nakikita kong ngumingiti ito habang nagsasalita si Rhys.

"I cannot make this without God who always guiding me. And lastly, the most important person whom I should thank of. The only person who believes and supports me in everything. My inspiration and motivation to keep going. The most important person in my life..." Sabi niya habang naglalakad papunta sa dereksyon ni Agatha.

Nakita kong napatuwid ng tayo si Agatha at hindi mapigilan ang ngiti. Kumuyom ang kamao ko. I hate what I am seing.

"The only person I wanted to spend my whole life with..." pagpapatuloy niya.

Pero nagulat ako sa kanyang ginawa. Dumeretso pa siya ng lakad at nilampasan si Agatha. Even Agatha was too shocked from what he did. Agad na sinundan ni Agatha ng tingin si Rhys at nanlaki ang mata niya ng makita niya ako.

"And that is my wife, Aestrea Aveleigh Vinstel-Prieur" he said when he stopped beside me. Ngumiti pa siya sa mga tao sa harapan namin. He held my waist before he leaned to kiss my head.

Patuloy sa pagkuha ang mga media ng litrato. But I was too shocked to react from what happened.

He leaned closer to my ears and whispered.

"Welcome home, my wife." He said before placing a kiss on my ears while holding my waist tightly like he never wanted me to leave him again.
