His eyes shine again(Book 2)

Chapter 2- Dull eyes

Naruto walked in the streets of Konoha not even caring where he would end up. He doesn't care if he became lost because he knows that he wouldn't be more lost than how he is in his thoughts. He didn't realize that he was walking the direction of the Uchiha compound. He might not be looking at where he was going but, his feet remembered the way after going there so many times to see his ex-lover Sasuke. Mikoto who was outside saw Naruto and ran up to him.

"Naruto!" Mikoto shouted.

Naruto stopped hearing someone call his name and turned around.

"Oh hi Mikoto-san." Naruto replied.

"You don't have to add any honorifics Naruto. You can just call me Mikoto. By the way, do you want to have dinner with Itachi and I today? Shisui and Obito are also coming over later." Mikoto offered.

"No it's fine. I don't want to trouble you." replied Naruto.

"Relax Naruto, you're not troubling us. If someone is troubling you then it would actually be us. Sasuke has caused you so much trouble and he was an Uchiha. He's caused you so much pain I don't know how to make it up to you Naruto." said Mikoto feeling guilty.

"It's fine, really. It's not your fault nor is it Itachi and the other's fault. He chose to do it on his own. I'm gonna go now." replied Naruto then he walked away.

Mikoto watched as Naruto left and sighed.

"His eyes are still dull aren't they?" asked Itachi who walked up to his mother Obito and Shisui following behind him.

"Yes they are. I can't help but feel guilty because of Sasuke. He's my son yet I couldn't stop him from leaving. Naruto is a nice kid as well and he doesn't deserve this." replied Mikoto.

"He got better when he met Jiraiya. Jiraiya told him many stories of the adventures his father and mother went through and how his father was known as 'The Yellow Flash'. He also got a bit better after meeting the Raikage who encouraged him and hoped him good luck on his dream of becoming Hokage like his father and when he met Killer B. Either way he'll probably be fine soon. It's not even your fault either." said Itachi.

"I agree with Itachi, It's not your fault aunty, don't feel guilty for something someone else did." said Shisui putting his hand on Mikoto's shoulder.

"Yeah. As you said before, Naruto's a nice kid and he wouldn't blame you for it. Plus, the first time I met him he was full of energy and happy. There was so much in his eyes, hope, light, faith. All of that can't just disappear that easily or forever." said Obito smiling back at the memories where Naruto was himself.

"sigh*  I hope you're right Obito. I really want Naruto to be happy again. His eyes were such a beautiful blue back then. I couldn't help but smile every time I saw them, they sparkled so much and they were full of life. Now they're not so beautiful anymore, they're dull and lifeless. I hope one day another person will be able to bring back his beautiful blue eyes from back then and his energetic self as well." said Mikoto.

"Even if it's someone besides Sasuke?" asked Itachi looking straight in his mother's eyes.

A single rolled down Mikoto's cheeks.

"Even if it's someone besides Sasuke." she replied.

The truth was, she always wanted him and Sasuke to stay with each other forever. She always loved it when Naruto came over and so did her husband when he was still alive. The family felt warm and happy. All the memories when Sasuke didn't leave and Naruto came over, there was a complete happy family, they were also like a family Naruto never had.

With Naruto*

Naruto continued to walk through the streets not caring where he went. He was in front of Ichiraku ramen shop but he didn't even realize it, he was so deep in thought he wasn't even effected by the smell of ramen.

"Hey Naruto!" greeted Teuchi and Ayame at the same time waving to him.

Naruto stopped in his tracks and looked at them.

"Oh hi Oji-san, Onee-san." Naruto waved back.

"Do you want to have some ramen Naruto?" asked Ayame smiling at him.

"It's on the house today." said Teuchi.

"Thanks but nah, I'm fine." replied Naruto walking away.

Teuchi and Ayame sighed.

"He would never refuse free ramen. He would be really happy and eat a lot." said Teuchi.

"I know. He would eat a lot of pork ramen. I guess he's that upset. or maybe, it's because he and Sasuke use to eat here together a lot since Naruto loved ramen so much and Sasuke wanted him to be happy. Maybe it's because it hurts him remembering memories he had with sasuke." said Ayame.

"That's probably it." replied Teuchi.

Sakura, Choji, Kiba, Hinata, Ino and Shikamaru who just happened to be in the back and hear what was happening sighed.

"I guess he's still pretty upset." said Kiba.

"I-I feel bad for him." said Hinata.

"I don't understand why he's that upset." said Choji.

"sigh* Let's put it this way Choji. How upset would you be if you're not allowed to have chips let's say, forever?" asked Shikamaru.

"I would be very sad and depressed." answered Choji.

"Let's just say it's the same except the chips is Sasuke for Naruto." explained Shikamaru.

"Man he's been like that forever. Even back at the academy when I had to leave early because of family business he wasn't that sad." said Kiba.

"Because Sasuke-kun played with him those times." said Sakura.

"He did?" asked Kiba.

"Yes he did. It was quite a cute sight to see. Now that Sasuke's gone, Naruto doesn't have anyone." said Ino.

"Hey! He has us don't make it like we're invisible!" said Kiba.

"I-I think she means in lover K-Kiba-kun." explained Hinata.

"Oh......." said Kiba.

"Wait, isn't Sakura still single?" asked Shikamaru.

They all turned to Sakura.

"Uh....I......"
