Hermitcraft oneshots and other random stuff

CtC Day six (Hypnocrafted, Jewels)

Fandom: Hermitcraft

Romantic: Yes

Day six prompt: Competing to have the best Christmas decorations.

Featuring: Hypno, xB, Jevin, and Wels!

I knew this would be way easier if I set this in the start of the season and did Bdoc, but I have a really cute idea for Day seven that also involves Doc so I decided on this instead. The prompt was probably thinking of a 1v1 situation but I'm doing 2v2, couple vs couple, instead. Enjoy!

 "I seriously can't believe this." Jevin squinted at a sign written by his friends, Hypno and xB.

"They think they can beat us in a decoration contest?? Well they're gonna regret going against us! Right , Wels?" Jevin turned to his boyfriend behind him who sighed.

"Right." The blond shook his head at their shenanigans. 

...

"I see you've received our challenge?" Hypno raised an eyebrow at the couple landing in front of them.

"Oh you know it! And Wels and I are gonna kick your a-" The blue slime glanced at Wels, who glared disapprovingly. "butts," he finished lamely.

 xB chuckled, sweet yet also mildly scary. "That's very funny Jev." 

Hypno joined in, " Yeah, as if you could beat us!"

 "It is ON!!"

 "Oh it is!!!"

 Wels simply shook his head, knowing this would go on forever, and he grabbed Jevin's elbow and dragged him away. 

"Good luck. You'll need it!" 

...

A few days passed and the challenge was well under way. xB's base was covered in lights and had a few 'zombie reindeer' wandering around. Jevin had wrapped lights around his entire build and the ocean reflected the rainbow colors. He'd also frozen the water around his base and placed snow here and there. A few multicolored candy canes were dotted around if you'd look closely.

"You really don't mess around when it comes to beating those two, do you?" Wels shifted his gaze between the decorated base and the proud looking slime. Said slime chuckled and wrapped his arm around the knight's waist, leaning against him lightly. 

"Of course I don't! I take every chance I have to beat them." His eyes shone with a competitive fire. "Thanks for helping me with decorating." 

"How could I not help you?"

...

"Dang it Hypno, they have really good decorations!" xB narrowed his eyes at Jevin's base. Hypno frowned a bit. 

" I think we have to up the game."

"But how?"

"It's time to do some terraforming... Get the cheesy romcoms, this is gonna be a big grind. "

"Awwwwww yeaaaaahhhh!"

 -The next day-

 "Oh god-" xB rubbed his eyes, stumbling around a bit. "When did we last take a break? When did you last take a break?!"

"You were 6 hours, I think I was... 8?" Hypno nearly fell over from exhaustion but xB caught him quickly. 

"Let's go inside and take a nap, I feel numb." The pair stumbled inside xB's house and quickly fell asleep cuddling after changing out of their icy clothes. 

...

"They did this in oNE DAY?!" Jevin and Wels gaped at the beautifully detailed landscape surrounding xB's base. There were mounds of snow that were dyed gray and red in some spots to look grimy and bloody. There were decaying wreaths, moth eaten ribbons, and dark evergreens to match the zombie theme of the base. There were little things too, such as a buried Christmas sign, a small campfire for warmth, a can littering the ground. It was all so detailed and fitting with the tone of the area. 

"Wowww... This is absolutely amazing." 

 Jevin sighed, admiring the lovely build. "There's no way we can beat this."

"Maybe we can? Don't give up Jev, we still have a chance." 

... 

"JEVIN!" A furious Wels stormed up to Jevin's base. Jevin winced as he realized the time- he'd been working all day in the cold. 

"Hi Wels?"

"DON'T 'Hi Wels ' ME! YOU HAVEN'T BEEN RESPONDING TO ANY OF MY MESSAGES FOR THE ENTIRE DAY!! "

Jevin whimpered, "Sorry Wels, I just lost track of time and-"

"You're cold blooded too, you can't stay in the cold!" Wels pressed his hand to the slime's forehead, frowning at how cold he felt. Without another word, he scooped Jevin up in his arms and brought him inside. 

 "Wha- Wels! I'm fine! Hypno and xB worked all night and all day and they're okay. "

"Hypno and xB were working together and neither of them are cold blooded," The knight retorted. He grabbed a blanket and sat down, holding the slime close to him. 

"Now, you aren't getting up until you're all  warmed up."

 "Bu-"

"No."

 ... 

When xB flew over Jevin and saw all the extra details he added, he pretty much gave up. There was no way he was gonna do another all nighter with Hypno to beat the decorations on Jevin's build- they were way too tired for that. And so, the next morning, he waved a white flag in the air with Hypno by his side as Wels and Jevin went by. 

"WE GIVE UP!!" 

To say Jevin was surprised was an understatement but he knew they were giving up for the same reason that he was coming to xB's- they were tired of this competition.

"WE GIVE UP TOO- TIE?? "

"SURE!" 

And that was that. The competition ended in a draw but it did provide two beautifully decorated bases, so it wasn't a total loss. One thing's for sure, the four friends were most definitely going to find some other thing to be competitive about very soon.
