"So I'm thinking that for the model part of the project we could use-" Taeyong stopped talking one he realized the other boy's attention was elsewhere.
"Jung Jaehyun. Are you listening?" He waved a hand in front of the younger's face.
"That's not what you called me the other night." Jaehyun said, wiggling his eyebrows.
The Lee blushed, looking away. "I told you, I was exhausted and not in my right mind."
"Mhmm." The man smiled. "You keep telling yourself that."
Taeyong shook his head, ignoring the comment. "Anyway! For the project, we have to make both a presentation and a model, so-"
"Do you remember how I tried to drop you off at your house, but you refused to let go of me?" Jaehyun said, leaning towards the younger.
"No!" The flustered boy practically yelled. "I told you, I was tired and should not be held accountable for anything I said or did!"
"And then you just kept complimenting me! Talking about how you love my personality and my looks! Things that I've heard from everyone my whole life, but it was completely different hearing them from you." Jaehyun moved closer, observing the blush on the older's cheeks.
"I was delirious! I didn't mean any of it!" Taeyong tried to save himself, but it wasn't working too well. "We're going to fail our project if we keep getting distracted like this!"
"Oh, who cares? No one really understands chemistry anyway." The muscled boy sighed, playing with the older's hair. "Do you remember what you told me right before I left?"
"N-No." Taeyong whispered, a little worried. He remembered doing and saying all the other things Jaehyun had mentioned, but he couldn't remember this. But he really had been exhausted, so who knows what he could have let slip?
"You mentioned how you felt, and confessed that you want us to be more than friends." He emphasized the last words, staring into the older's eyes.
"Ha! You're a liar, Jung Jaehyun!" Taeyong cheered, clapping his hands together. "I never would have exposed myself like that no matter how tired I was!"
"Fine. You didn't." Jaehyun frowned, crossing his arms. "But I wish you did."
Taeyong heard those words, and stopped. Did he really hear the younger right? He was going to change the subject, but words of advice suddenly popped into his head.
Be brave.
Sure, why not?
"I might not have said those words the other night at Sicheng's, but I'll say them now." He said, earning the other boy's attention.
"You what?" The Jung whispered, his eyes wide.
"I've liked you for years, Jaehyun, and I think it's time I step up and tell you." Taeyong smiled, somehow feeling no fear. "I really do want us to be more."
Seeing the surprised look on the younger's face, Taeyong panicked, the pink returning to his face. "I-I mean, only if y-you want to."
Jaehyun suddenly regained his thoughts, and watched the embarrassed boy. Leaning closer to place a soft kiss on the flustered cheeks, the younger smiled. "There's nothing I would love more."
_______________
Pushing the shopping cart forward, the older woman scanned the shelves. Now that there were two hungry teenagers living in her house, she would have to get more food.
"What did Sicheng say he wanted again?" She whispered to herself, trying to find the item. It took her a moment to remember, but once she did, she grabbed the snack and threw it in her cart.
After checking her shopping list, she was pleased to find that she had gotten everything. With a smile, she headed towards checkout.
There were two lanes open, and another woman was putting her items in one of them, so she moved her cart to the other.
"Did you find everything ok?" The cashier asked, scanning her items.
"Yes! Thank you!" She replied with a smile.
After paying for her items, she loaded them into her cart and made her way towards the door.
The other customer, a older woman, wearing an expensive dress and the biggest pair of diamond earrings possibly ever, also made her way to the exit.
"Go ahead." The luxurious lady said, letting Sicheng's mother go first.
"Thank you." She said, going out the door and making a mental note of the other's high maintenance look.
Coincidentally, both women had parked right next to each other. Both giving the other polite nods, they unloaded their groceries in their cars.
"Mrs. Nakamoto!" An employee ran out, handing the woman a shopping bag. "You forgot this!"
Once the kid had left, the Chinese turned to the other. "Nakamoto? I know someone with that name."
"Really? It's quite rare!" The woman said, her manicured hands placing the bags in her sports car. "Who is it? Maybe I know them."
"His name is Yuta." Sicheng's mother said, completely oblivious as to who she was talking to.
"Oh." The woman groaned. "That's my son."
Stopping in her tracks, the Chinese almost dropped everything she was holding. "You are Yuta's mom?"
Seeing the hostile reaction, the Japanese looked at the other. "Yes, why?"
"Oh boy, lady." The woman said, the anger rising inside. She had the sudden urge to throw fists, but tried to keep it at bay. "I have some not very nice words to say to you."
