"Is that Wood I see?"

No way. "Is that Malfoy I see?" I match his joking tone. He walks into the store and pulls me into a hug.

Before I became best friend's with the twins, Draco was one of my only friends. My parents were in Gryffindor and so was Oliver, but I was put into Slytherin. I never thought I belonged in Slytherin because, let's be real, I wasn't an asshole to people who weren't Purebloods. I don't care about blood status. But since I was sorted into Slytherin, everyone I became friends with on the train, ignored me; Even Oliver did for a while. It's part of the reason why I'm not friends with the Golden Trio. I ate lunch and walked around the school by myself for a while until Draco decided to eat lunch with me. To this day, I don't get why he chose to sit next to me one day but it really helped me out. I never bullied people along with Draco, Pansy, Blaise, etc. But I just never stopped them.

I became friends with the twins when they caught me in the astronomy tower smoking, and of course, they sat down and smoked with me. I never stopped hanging out with Draco because I was friends with the twins and vise versa. And thank Merlin, none of them made me stop hanging out with the other one. Draco and I drifted when he associated himself with the Dark Lord. Pansy and Blaise didn't talk to Draco after finding out he worked for Voldemort, I knew it wasn't his choice. Since his father grew a liking for me, I spent a lot of time at their Manor. I knew the type of man Lucius Malfoy was and I knew Draco had no choice; No matter what he and his mother had to say about it.

"I've missed you bud." Draco looks down at me from the hug. I look up at him and smile. "I've missed you too bud." I truly did miss him. Things were different between us and everyone else. Over time, I did develop a little teen crush on Draco, but I knew we'd never be more than what we were. Without looking, I could tell Pansy has left our side. After a few minutes, I pulled away from the hug and pulled him next to the register so we could sit and talk.

"So, how is everything? Your parents?" He tensed up at the mention of his parents. "I stopped talking to my father completely. He was taken into Azkaban for life. Mother's safe with her family." I was so happy for him, I knew he's always wanted to get away from his father. I pull him into another hug; a comforting one this time. "I know it's your father but I've really always hated his dramatic ass" I could hear Draco laughing above me, thankful he didn't take it offensively. "I know bud, I did too" I, once again, pull away. This time, keeping eye contact. I let out a sad sigh. I've missed this, him, being able to talk to him like this.

"You okay Wood?" He noticed my energy. He always had, I could never hide anything from him. I smile and nod. "Yeah, I just missed you, I couldn't help you when you needed it so I'm going to make it up to you." His eyes lighten up at my words. "So Malfoy, where have you been staying?" He looks out the window, "I've been staying with Pansy and Blaise at an apartment nearby." I nod my head at him. We sat in some quietness for a bit until I began to count some money.

"You've been staying with the weasels?" I threw a rubber band at him, "Shut it, they're just upstairs!" I couldn't help but laugh a little. He was joking, even though he grew up hating the Weasley family, the twins were the only two that he never really messed with. "Yeah I have, they kicked me and Oli out of the house. We needed somewhere to stay and Molly offered." His eyes softened and I knew he was going to bring up my parents. "Don't. You know I hate sympathy." He tilts his head at me and gives me a really look. "I know how close you were with your parents. You practically almost killed Pansy when you guys had that one argument." A grin forms on my face as I remember the mess I caused on Pansy's face. Pansy and I had a rough start before we became best friends. Draco shakes his head out of amusement and continues to speak, "Really bud, how are you?" I let out a deep breath before telling him how I've been feeling. "I haven't been okay. I can't keep lying about it. I keep it in because the Weasleys don't need any more problems than what they already have. The only person I've talked to about my feelings is Fred."

Draco raises his eyebrows and a taunting look grew on his face. "Freddie huh?" I look at him, my smile forming into a straight line. "Stop it." I get up and begin cleaning. "Bud, don't lie to me. I know you." I set down the rag and sit back down next to him. "Okay, yeah, nothing has changed with how I feel about Fred." Draco smiles, but his eyes don't shine like they normally do when he smiles. "You need to talk to him." I shake my head, "I will, just not now."

Just as Draco opened his mouth to begin speaking, Pansy and Blaise show up with their things. Draco walks to the other side of the register again. They pay for their things and they leave; except for Draco. He walks to my side once again and pulls me into a huge hug. "Owl me Wood, I mean it. And if you ever need anything, I'm just across the street from here. Please, show up." I look up at him and smile, "I will Malfoy, I will." And with that, he leaves. I sit down on my chair and let out a huge breath. Merlin, I've missed him.

I went back counting the money as a huge bang comes from upstairs.
