Chapter Nine- Genetics

~~LeClere's point of view~~

I've totally blown off Chase and Marcus. I know that I need to talk to them both. I just don't have the energy. Between the girls and work, I'm exhausted.

Rhys has been on me about not talking to them. I'll see them today. We all have the genetic tests today.

I'm in my office, and a knock comes on my door.

LeClere: "Come in."

I look up.

LeClere: "What are you doing here?"

Marcus: "I'm not going to talk to you in front of everyone, Clere."

LeClere: "I was going to call you."

Marcus: "Bullshit, LeClere."

LeClere: "I need time to process it all, Marcus."

Marcus: "You don't think we do too? I have to do this three times Clere. Three. You weren't the one I thought I'd have trouble with."

LeClere: "Why would you have trouble with Caroline or Megan?"

Marcus: "Caroline doesn't know if she even wants to keep it. I know that you do, and Megan are. If I'm the dad, I want to be there. I'll pay child support. I just want to in its life."

LeClere: "I don't have any plans of keeping this child from its father. The only thing I do need to make sure is that you don't have a problem with Rhys. You have to remember we already have two kids together."

Marcus: "Clere, I don't have a problem with Rhys. We're all adults. We all fucked up. We all need to step up and do what's right."

LeClere: "I'm all for that. I just needed time. Think about it, Marcus. A new relationship, two kids, changes at work, pregnant with three possible fathers. It's been a lot."

Marcus: "I understand. I just really want to make sure that you know that I am here."

A knock comes on the door.

LeClere: "Come in."

Rhys: "Hey. Um, Joshua is here to see you."

LeClere: "Um, ok...."

Marcus: "I'll see you later, Clere. Remember what I said."

LeClere: "I will..."

He starts to leave.

LeClere: "Hey, Marcus."

Marcus: "Yeah?"

LeClere: "Thank you."

Marcus: "Of course."

Not exactly sure why Joshua would want me. I've had very little interaction with him. I've definitely never been with him.

LeClere: "Send him in."

Rhys returns with Joshua. 

Joshua: "Hello."

LeClere: "Hey."

Rhys goes to leave.

Joshua: "Wait, you can stay; she may want you too."
