Two months later
~~Megan's point of view~~
Today is our court date. Chase has assured us we will be fine. I still can't help but stress. I'm currently bent over the toilet at the courthouse, puking.
Brooklyn: "I love you, Megan, but this is extremely hard for me."
Megan: "I know, but my husband can't come in here."
Brooklyn: "This would not be the proper place for him to be."
Megan: "And puking on the floor would be just as inappropriate."
Brooklyn: "I'll rub your back all day long. I cannot look at you while you puke."
I puke a few more times. Brooklyn and I are now sitting with our backs against the wall of the bathroom.
The door opens.
Beth: "Are you two, ok?"
Brooklyn: "I'm fine. I've got my sister in laws back."
Megan: "Yeah, way back."
Brooklyn: "I rubbed your back."
Megan: "While facing the wall."
Beth: "Better her than me."
I burst out laughing.
Brooklyn: "What?"
Megan: "Whoever thought any of us would be where we are?"
Brooklyn: "You mean married?"
Megan: "Yes."
Beth: "All three of us got married with two weeks of each other."
Brooklyn: "Beth and I did the cliché thing."
Megan: "You both of you married your brother's best friends."
Beth: "LeClere, Brooklyn, and I have the three stooges."
Brooklyn: "Yes, we do."
Megan: "You calmed Marcus down."
Brooklyn: "I threatened to quit if he didn't then married him a few days later."
The door opens again.
LeClere: "Megan, you have to come out now."
Megan: "I'm coming."
This is my child. Today seals our fate. I know that I've been told over and over, not worry. This is my child. My parents.
We all leave the bathroom. As soon as I'm out the door, Ryder's arms are around me.
Ryder: "Everything is going to be ok, Babe."
Chase: "We've got to go."
We all pile into the courtroom. Everyone was there, all of "Our" family and all of Marcus and Ryder's family.
I send Brooklyn a quick text.
~~Text conversation~~
Megan: "We still doing this?"
Brooklyn: "Yes. Unless you don't want to."
