Chapter 49

Sana enters the room after she had got herself cleaned. She thanks the doctor and leaves with Sidharth.

Sana: My brave baby (she kisses his chest), you won the challenge!!

Sidharth had no courage to speak even though he won the challenge, he somewhere learnt how painful it was to earn those small perks of being a women.

Sana was sleeping in the bed, while Sidharth was still awake thinking about all the tasks he went through in those 2 weeks. He gets up and goes near her belly and in a slow voice speaks to his baby.

Sidharth: Hello baby, all this time I was wishing you were a girl but you know what, you can be a boy as well. I can't imagine my little bub going through all the pains in life. Whoever you are I would make you stronger in life. Stronger to face any kind of situation in life. If you are a boy, I will make you aware of all the pains a girl goes through and if you are a girl I will prepare you to face them. I love you regardless!

He kisses her belly and goes to sleep.

The next day, he takes half day off from office. He drives with his lawyer.  He had taken a permission from court to meet Mrs. Rina Singhania, his biological mother. He meets her.

Sidharth: Hello Mom!

Rina was taken aback as he always called her Mrs. Singhania and today he was calling her mom.

Sidharth: I know, you have committed crimes, you killed 3 innocent lives, I may never forgive you for that but I am not going to hate you as I did earlier. Reason is I learnt how difficult it is to be a lady. You loved someone but you were forrced to marry someone else, who was a workaholic, he never gave you so much love, it was indeed an injustice towards you.

You gave birth to 2 child and you could not spend time with both, your love child, Vikas, wouldn't be with you as he would be tagged illegitimate and me probably because I was born out of a forced relation.

I value the pains you must have gone through during the two pregnancies. You didn't like me, but still went ahead with all the pains to give birth to me. Thank you for that.

I wish I could have been a bit good to you too as a son. Whatever, crime you did was out of your love and concern towards Vikas. And he is doing good with me in my company. He is a CFO now.

RS was already crying listening to him speak like this. She was feeling guilty.

Sidharth: Look mom. (Shows a photo) Vikas got married 5 months back. He is happy. He has a wife named Shital. They love each other a lot. And this (shows her the ultrasound picture) is your grandchild, my baby, Sana is 7 months pregnant.

RS sobbed like a child. She hugs him and kissed him on his forehead! The love which she never ever allowed to be born since his birth had now taken birth. She was shattered and ashamed of not giving him the love he deserved all this years.

He held her gently.

Sidharth: I don't know whether I will be ever able to see you again or if you can stay with us anytime, but I will miss you.

RS: I am Sorry my son. Whatever differences I had with Inder, I shouldn't have shown it on you. You are my own flesh and blood, yet I never realized it. Today I feel guilty to the core. You calling me mom is the biggest thing for me. Now I can die peacefully.

Sidharth gives her the pictures.

RS: Give my love to Sana and Vikas! The one I could never shower on anyone of you being blinded by the hate. I've realised that I have lost a lot, in the greed of gaining something and now it's too late to get it back.
