THE SOUND of an alarm woke Sara from her sleep, the loud blaring ringing in her ears. She opened her eyes, sleepily glaring at the annoying box that could let out such a loud fucking sound. Her hand reached over to slam on the off button as she groaned loudly, shoving off her blanket — to which she regretted at once. She gasped slightly as the cold air hit her bare legs and she immediately pulled the blankets back over her skin. She cursed lowly under her breath at herself for leaving the window open.
Deciding to just rip the band-aid off, she threw back the blankets once again and hopped off her bed, yanking open her dresser and pulling out a pair of blank high waisted pants. She put them on, letting out a small sigh of relief as her legs began to recover from the chilly air. She pulled her shirt over her head and threw it into the laundry basket, grabbing a bra and a sage-green colored sweatshirt. She put them on, leaving her room to go to the bathroom and brush her teeth and hair.
When she was finished, she walked back to her room, grabbing her phone and headphones from her nightstand before picking up her backpack. She took one last look at her room, making sure she wasn't missing anything, before turning and leaving. She closed her bedroom door behind her, walking downstairs and into the kitchen.
From the kitchen window, she could see the dark grey clouds in the air, threatening to start pouring rain at any given time. She glanced at the coffee pot, silently thanking her mother for making some coffee this morning. She pulled out a traveling mug, pouring the rest of the coffee into the cup. She reached for some creamer, pouring a good amount into it to block out the strong bitterness of the drink.
Because the girl usually skipped breakfast in the morning, she headed out of her house without it, making sure she had her car and house keys.
Her car was a classic — a 1979 Bonneville Landau Coupe — and it was her world. Her father had given the car to her for her sixteenth birthday, a gift he had received from his father. Along with his tan Volkswagen Beetle, he had a small collection of old cars, something he always took pride in. Those were the memories she preferred to remember of her father, making sure she blocked out anything bad. She promised her father that she would care for the car like a child, making sure it was always running well and staying clean.
She turned and locked the front door of the house before making her way down the driveway to her car that was parked alongside the curb. She unlocked it, climbing into the driver's seat and throwing her backpack into the seat beside her. She started the car, pulling away from the curb to start her short drive to her new high school.
Ten minutes later, she was pulling into the parking lot of the school — cars of all kinds crowding the cramped space. She was finally able to find a parking spot and she pulled into it, shutting off her car and hopping out. She grabbed her things and slammed the door shut, a crowd of students leaning against a green van. Muttering an "excuse me", she squeezed past them and started her way up the wet path to the main office building.
She could feel multiple eyes on her as she reached the door, pulling it open and entering the office. Warmth replaced the cold and she couldn't help but smile a bit at how warm it was. She walked to the main desk, her eyes meeting a pair of kind, brown ones.
"Good morning. I'm here for my schedule for my classes," Sara said, smiling softly at the lady that sat in a chair. The older woman glanced up at her, standing quickly. "Oh! You must be Seraphine, right?" seeing as Sara nodded, the lady continued. "Welcome to Forks High School, dear. You'll like it here very much! Let me just go and grab your schedule." She left and in a few minutes, she was back.
She handed Sara her schedule and a school map, going over which hallways she would need to be in for the quickest route to her classes. She handed her a green slip, instructing her to have all her teachers sign the paper and to return it to the office at the end of the day. "You may run into another new girl who started today — the chief's daughter. Her name is Isabella Swan and she seems like a nice girl! You both would be lovely friends," she said with a small smile before taking a seat back into her chair. Sara nodded, forcing a smile back at the lady. "Alright, well you enjoy your first day, my dear. Have fun!" She cheerfully said, turning back to start some paperwork.
"Thank you," Sara said quietly, opening the door to the hallways of the school. Her eyes were locked on her school map, trying to find which hallway her locker would be in. Currently, she was in Hallway C and her locker would be in Hallway E — right in front of her first-period class, AP 11th grade English.
As she was walking, she felt herself hit something — or rather, someone. She grunted at the impact, her cheeks turning red as she looked at the person she had crashed into. "Oh my god, I'm sorry — I wasn't looking where I was going," she quickly said, locking eyes with a girl around the same age as her. She had long brown hair and warm chocolate eyes and seemed almost as embarrassed as Sara was. The girl quickly shook her head, biting her lip softly. "No, no. That was totally my fault. I'm new here and I was looking for my locker —"
So this was Isabella Swan.
Sara smiled at the girl, holding up her map and papers. "Don't worry, I'm new too. Where's your locker? Maybe we can help each other," she suggested, chuckling softly.
The dark-haired girl left out a small laugh, moving to show Sara her locker paper. "It says Hallway E, and I think we're in C," she said, pointing to the hallway they needed to get to. "My locker is there too. Let's get moving before we're late on our first day," she joked, starting to walk in the direction of the hallway.
"I'm Bella Swan, by the way. I just moved here," she said quietly, walking alongside Sara in the crowded hallway. Sara turned to look at her, nodding her head. "Yeah — the office lady up front said you were new here too. I'm Sara Adams. Moved from California." Bella's eyes slightly lit up at this and she furrowed her eyebrows. "Oh thank god I'm not the only one from a sunny state — I don't like rain much," she spoke, her eyes moving to look at the floor while they entered Hallway D.
Sara's eyes looked up and down Bella, examining her extremely pale skin. Bella saw this and rolled her brown eyes, a smile playing on her lips. "Yeah I know, I'm pale. I've heard it hundreds of times already, don't worry," she laughed. Sara joined in on her laughter before she felt an arm sling across her shoulder. She turned to see a man standing in between the two girls.
"Seraphine and Isabella!" He dragged out the A in Bella's name, sending each girl a friendly smile. "It's just Sara—" she cut in. "Just Bella," Bella said, looking back to the floor.
The boy continued to talk as if not hearing them, his arms still around the girls as they walked. "I'm Eric, the eyes and ears of this place. Anything you need — tour guide, lunch date, shoulder to cry on?" He said, a smile never leaving his lips. "I'm more of a suffer in silence type," Bella muttered quietly, awkwardly shifting herself away from Eric. "Good headline for your feature. I'm on the paper and you both are news, babes, front page."
He looked back at Sara, sending her a friendly smile. "I better be," the blonde smirked, winking at the boy as she moved out of the boy's grasp. "Don't worry, babe, I got you," "Good, not can you point us in the way of Hallway E, please?" Bella asked softly. Eric nodded, telling the girls to turn right and then keep going straight before waving the girls goodbye as they finished their walk to their lockers. The girls' lockers were right across from each other and Sara couldn't help but feel as if they would become fast friends. She slightly hoped she and Bella would become friends — given that both were new.
The two girls bid their goodbyes, hoping to see each other soon in their next classes. Bella left the hallway, going to her first class. Sara closed her locker with a single sigh, taking deep breaths as she entered her first-period class.
It would be fine
WOO, we got the introductions practically done , now we just have to wait for the cullens ;)
I'm sorry but I don't understand why so many people hate Bella so much. Like bro cut my home girl some slack.
I have a feeling her and Sara will become great friends — but who knows 😏
