WHEN SARA woke the next morning, she could feel the dry tears sticking to her face, her eyes stinging when she opened them.
Shifting slightly in her bed, she found herself alone, her mother having left for work just an hour prior. She debated whether or not she should even go to school today. Maybe she could play sick - call her school and claim she had a virus.
However, she knew she couldn't. Jasper would be here in about half an hour anyways to pick her up for school, then they would he off to his house. Part of herself felt giddy and excited to spend the day with the beautiful boy, but another part of her felt... Off.
Bella's words had slightly scared her, causing her to feel uneasy at the thought of being alone. Yet, she couldn't deny her attraction towards the man.
Saw a threw the blanket off her warm body, biting her lip as the cold air stung her skin. Goosebumps rose on her legs as she hopped off her bed, running a hand through her tangled mess of hair.
She felt the exhaustion in her bones, a yawn escaping her lips as she wiped her eyes.
She desperately wanted to sleep.
She pulled on a pair of black leggings, throwing on a white bra and Jaspers jacket.
The greyish-blue jacket had become her favorite article of clothing, even if it wasn't exactly hers. Who knew a simple sweater could bring such comfort.
She left her hair down, throwing open her bedroom door to make her way into the bathroom. There, she washed her face, brushed her hair and teeth, and used to the toilet before returning to her room again.
As she sat in her bed to pull on her combat boots, she noticed she had a message. Reaching over to grab the phone and read it, she couldn't help but smile at the simple two worded sentence.
JASPER
6:25 am - good morning :)Sara responded with a good morning, putting her phone down so she could continue lacing up her shoes.
Finally, she was ready for the day. Grabbing her backpack, she hurried downstairs into the kitchen to pour her daily coffee. Glancing at the kitchen clock, she realized she wouldn't have time to drink her coffee at home, so she poured it into a travel mug.
Exactly at 6:30, she heard a knock sounding on her door, the noise echoing throughout the house. "Come in!" she shouted, making her way out of the kitchen to lock the backdoor.
The sound of the door opening and shutting filled her ears, footsteps shuffling across the floor. She turned, her heart fluttering slightly in her chest as her green eyes met gold.
"Hello, " he said softly, smiling at the girl with his hands behind her back. He noticed his sweater on the girl, a pleasant feeling overcoming him at the sight.
"Morning, cowboy, " she replied, picking up her backpack and pulling it over her shoulder. "Ready?"
Jasper nodded, turning to follow Sara out of the house. He watched as she locked the front door and twisted around, her eyes widening at his choice of vehicle.
His motorcycle sat parked at the end of the driveway, the polished color shining beneath the grey clouds of Forks.
"Dear fucking God, " she muttered under her breath, following Jasper down the walkway.
"You do know how to drive this thing, right?" she asked, worry and fear lacing her words. Jasper handed her the single helmet sitting on the handlebars, smirking down at the girl. "Of course, darlin'," he answered, quirking an eyebrow and offering his hand.
She took the helmet into her hands reluctantly, biting her lip hard. "I'm going to be so fucked off if we die, " she hissed, taking his cold hand into hers. He helped her onto the back, rolling his eyes at her remark.
"Your doubt in me is slightly hurtful, " he joked, swinging his leg around the front to take a seat.
"Oh shut up."
"Just hold onto me. You'll be fine, don't worry." using his free hand, he reached behind him, gripping her wrist smoothly and bringing it to wrap around his midsection. Sara didn't argue, wrapping her other arm around him in a tight grip, leaning her chest against his back, clad In a brown suede jacket.
"Wait, Jasper - don't you need a helmet?" she asked suddenly, just as the man was about to start the machine up. He shook his head, a warm chuckle vibrating throughout his chest.
"I'll be fine, honey, don't worry."
And with that, he started it up, Sara automatically tightening her grip on Jasper as he began to pull away from the curb.
-
Sara wasn't a fool - actually, she was quite smart. She knew as soon as Jasper had pulled into the parking lot of Forks High School, the students began to whisper and stare at the sight. She felt awkward with the attention, simply choosing to ignore it. It didn't the first time people around her had stared at her like she was a three-headed monkey.
Jasper, however, seemed to get a kick out of it, even going as far as wrapping his arm around Sara's shoulders in a teasing way. "Give them something to look at, darlin'," he had told her gently, grinning as they made their way into the school.
Sara rolled her eyes at this, choosing to let Jasper keep his arm in its place. She didn't mind - after all, they were just good friends.
Right?
She searched for her friend, frowning slightly when she realized Bella wasn't anywhere to be seen. Guess she confronted Edward, then.
"Don't you have History right now? " she asked curiously, continuing her walk as she looked up at the man beside her. He nodded, the amused smile not falling once.
"Okay... Then what are you doing?"
"Walking you to your class, obviously, " he replied.
"Aw, what a proper gentleman, " she mused, snickering lightly as they reached her German class.
"See you later, mein licht, "
Sara's eyes widened at his words, watching as the man sent a small wink towards her before leaving. She stood unmoving, staring after him as she felt the heat rush into her cheeks.
And maybe somewhere else too.
Quickly, just as the last bell rang, she rushed into the class, collapsing into her seat with a loud, lovestruck sigh.
Fuck you, Hale.
In the upcoming chapters, we're gonna see a very cocky Jasper it's going to be amazing.
Hope you enjoyed this chapter :)
