IT HAD BEEN about four weeks since the "almost-kiss", and Sara found herself completely avoiding the Hale twin, much to his dismay. After a few more uncomfortable sessions and get-togethers for photography, they parted their ways.

From longing stares and attempts to speak to her alone, the young female would brush him off, trying her best to mask the unbearable shame and embarrassment she felt. It didn't exist if she pretended it didn't.

But he felt everything.

The humiliation followed him everywhere, clinging to his cold skin like a disease. He couldn't shake it, and he blamed himself.

He was the reason she was feeling these things — it was his fault.

Sara felt alone, even though she surrounded herself with friends. She missed Bella, for the brunette had completely ditched her for Edward. Sara felt slightly betrayed, abandoned, and she didn't know what to do.

"Um, Sara? Are you even listening?" The voice of Jessica called, pulling the blonde from her mind and back into reality. She quickly lifted her eyes from the table to look at her friends, noticing the confused and slightly worried looks they were giving her.

"What?" She asked, her voice soft. She felt exhausted again, the days of little sleep finally catching up to her.

"I said Bella looks different. Y'know less... Bella-like," Jessica sniffed, her nose wrinkled slightly as she sent a quick glare towards the table in the corner, where the family plus Bella were seated.

Turning, Sara cast a look towards them, immediately noticing what Jessica had been saying. She was right — Bella looked... happy. Her usually pale skin seemed to glow beautifully, the contrast between her green blouse and her ivory-colored skin looking beautiful with her brown eyes. Her hair had more shine, and a permanent smile sat atop her thin lips. Her eyes were caught with Edwards, who was looking slightly less emo as of recently, thankfully.

A burst of envy shot through Sara's veins, though it was soon replaced with a tinge of sadness.

Bella and Edward were beautiful together, like a couple you would read out in a cheesy romance novel, or a pair you would see in a teen drama movie.

Though Bella had completely ditched her, Sara felt happy that her friend finally found someone who could truly make her smile, even if she herself envied the same touch of love Edward gave her.

She was so lonely.

She turned back to her friends, resting the palm of her hand against her cheekbone. "She seems happy, Jess. You should be happy for her."

Jessica shrugged in response, pulling her bottom lip between her teeth as she picked at her salad, unsure of what to say next. The table fell in silence, the mood seemingly falling into a deep hole of awkwardness. However, it was cut short when Mike spoke up.

"Why does Hale keep staring at you?"

Blush quickly spread across Sara's cheeks, the heat warming her body. She wasn't stupid — she constantly caught Jasper's golden orbs falling upon her, yet she continued to ignore it. She knew she was being petty, but she just felt shame every time she looked at him.

"It's getting kinda weird, Sara..." Angela whispered, adjusting the pair of glasses that began to slide down her nose.

She shrugged in response, feeling awkward as her friends gawking at the other table. "God, you guys are like stalkers," she began, standing from her place at the table, "I'm outta here and heading to the library. Later, Bitches," she called, picking her backpack from the floor and leaving without another word.
