scenario: you're just girl who happened to fall in love with Toru Oikawa. Not as a volleyball player or as someone super cool. But you fell for him as a person.

Time's been ticking a lot lately and it's that time where hearts are running and plenty of couples are getting together. Valentine's Day and White Day were both fastly approaching. Typically, Y/N didn't care. But this year, she found herself having eyes for a certain boy.

And that boy was none other than Oikawa Toru. 'I think that Cupid's up to something.' Y/N thought to herself quietly as she proceeded to walk by the side of the boy who she found herself crushing on.

"Y/N-chan how do you feel?" Oikawa looked at his friend as he walked to school next to her being genuinely worried. Y/N shrugged in response saying nothing. She was never usually this quiet but she had been quiet a lot recently.

Though Oikawa was worried, Y/N actually felt better than ever. The colors seemed so bright in her world lately and the stars lit up the night. She found her feet feeling even lighter than normal yet she decided to ignore all the signs.

As a matter of fact, she refused to believe they were signs of her falling in love. "Did you get enough sleep last night? Or were you too busy thinking about me Y/N?~" Toru teased his best female friend which caused her to roll her eyes and scoff.

"Yeah, right. That's only what you want to have happened." She fronted hoping Oikawa would fall for the bluff. Y/N's been fronting and bluffing a lot lately to hide her flusteredness around him.

As she does this, she keeps Toru wondering about how she really feels about him. He's gotten a crush on her a long time ago and he consistently hunts for her loving.

Y/N craves nothing more than a hug from him at the moment but instead she stays stubborn because she doesn't want to admit that Oikawa has all the strings to her heart and knows exactly how to tug them.

'I think I'm in love again...I haven't felt this feeling in a long time...So it's a shock I'm feeling it again. I didn't think it would be true...Let alone that it would be Toru. But he really stays in my head all day, every day, all the time...' Y/N thought to herself before letting out a small sight.

"Hey. Stop sighing, we're here." Oikawa said as he poked his friend's cheek which earned him an irritated look from the girl next to him. 'I think I'm in love...No I'm in love with this idiot?' Y/N said internally facepalming at herself.

"Yeah, let's get this over with."

Y/N sighed softly as she watched Oikawa from a bench in the corner. It was after school at this time and Toru invited her to watch the volleyball team as they practiced.

Y/N wanted to watch them all and cheer them on to work harder but she was just so distracted by Oikawa. He had a genuinely focused look on his face. He looked so serious her heart couldn't help but flutter.

Her heart was pacing the whole time and she was confused by it so much to the point she was dazing. She's seen something she's never seen in him. "Y/N!" Oikawa suddenly yelled causing her to flinching. He was right in front of her face only with his being mere centimeters apart.

"Did you hear me? Practice is ov–Are you okay? You're shaking..." Toru gave Y/N a worried look. Y/N looked down at her hands to see that he was right. She was shaking. "I must be hallucinating..." She mumbled before Oikawa flicked her forehead.

"I hear it happens when people watch me play~" He cooed before Y/N shot him a look before getting up. "Iwaizumi I'm leaving!" She yelled out which got an "okay" in response before she begun to leave. "I'm just saying!" Oikawa yelled hurriedly going after her.

"Babe, I'm just saying!" Toru said again except for adding a pet name which made Y/N flustered. She stopped in her tracks immediately with pink dusting her cheeks.

"Can someone give him some paper and some crayons? He's feeling like a child, and he needs something to play on." Y/N said once she calmed herself down enough and forced herself to give Oikawa an annoyed look.

"Can you help me out with this Y/N-chan?" He stuck his tongue out a bit at her before gesturing to the volleyball net. "I'm trying hard to trust you right now." She frowned at the pretty boy.

"I'm serious! Give me your hand." Oikawa smiled before grabbing her hand walking over to the volleyball net hand in hand with her. Y/N looked down at their clasped hands in shock.

"Fine, I guess I'll help you." Y/N sighed pulling her hand away from his. "Thanks!" He chuckled a little and put the volleyball net back where it belonged thanks to her help.

"Alright can you put this on the upper shelf for me?" He asked tossing her a stray volleyball that was once in the corner of the gym. "Sure." She nodded before beginning to put the volleyball on the shelf.

"Don't do this at home kids." Oikawa said while watching her which she stifled laughter at. "It's not a big deal. I got this." She smiled a small bit while putting the volleyball back.

The shelf wasn't stable yet Y/N had one foot on the shelf and another foot on a higher level in order to put the volleyball back. And she did put the ball back successfully, but she started falling.

"Toru!" Y/N squeaked hoping for nothing more than for him to catch her when she landed. "On it." He spoke before catching her in his arms with ease. "Are you okay?" Oikawa asked gently.

"I'm fine..." She said looking into his face being flustered. And for a split second, she could've sworn she saw him looking at her lips. "Hey Y/N, it's about time we get out of he-" He started before getting cut off by Y/N's lips pressing against his.

Oikawa blinked for a few seconds before closing his eyes and kissing her back. A minute afterwards, she pulled away leaving Toru exasperated. "I-I'm sorry! Everything's just been off lately! The world looked like a lovelier places! The colors have seemed brighter and the stars started lighting up the night more! But Toru you just light up my world! You're smile always makes my day better and your passion and dedication to volleyball inspires me! I think I'm in love with you!" Y/N suddenly screeched causing Toru to blink.

"You think what?" He blinked slowly this time with his eyebrows furrowing a little. "I think I'm in love again...You know how things with my ex-boyfriend went south but you were always there Toru...You were always there for me even before he and I started dating...I'm sorry I'm saying this late but you're in my head. You're always in my head and I can never get you out!" She seethed with self-loathing in dripping at the end of her words.

"God this is so awkward you probably ha-" Y/N was about to proceed to vent but Oikawa stopped her from continuing by kissing her passionately. Y/N was in shock, but she kissed him back.

Y/N pulled away a bit afterwards. "What was that?" She asked dumbly. "A kiss, duh." Toru made a face which caused her to blink in confusion. She knew that but Oikawa hasn't dated anyone since his last girlfriend who dumped him. He was that heartbroken.

And Y/N was there that time for him too. Toru was always popular with girls though and that's what confused her. He had all these fans who wanted to date him and yet he kissed her? "But what does it mean?" She blurted looking at Toru with a flustered face.

"It means, I think I'm in love again. I'm in love with you Y/N."
