(1792 New England)
I had moved from America to New England to start a new life with my wife, Annabelle. Her parents never approved of me, in fact they hated me. I wasn't really the type of man with a good job and stable home. Annabelle didn't seem to mind, she loved me for who I was. We came to New England and I got a job as a ship builder. We lived in a nice home. It was perfect.
We had yet to have kids but Annabelle had said "Tonight will be the night, Stanley. I want to try to have a child, it's about time we try." Annabelle was a virgin, she wanted to wait until she felt the time is right. I never pressured her.
That night we made love for the first time. After we had finished, she laid her head on my chest. "I love you so much, Stanley." I smiled. She was all I had ever wanted. "I love you too."
When I had awoken, Annabelle was gone. All that remained in the bed was the golden engraved necklace she always wore.
