Here they were, in the hospital. Ethan and Charlotte. Leland and Stanley were parts of Ethan. He remembered the lifes, but he refused to reflect on them.
That's the past. I'm in the future. Ethan thought.
Ethan could notice May come out in Charlotte. It didn't matter because Ethan loved every part of Charlotte.
Charlotte was very intelligent. After we married, she remembered May. As we laid down together for the first time, she remembered the day Leland gave May the locket. That was all she could remember and Ethan was not going to remind her of the painful times.
Ethan and Charlotte lived in the now and they were happy. Charlotte gave birth to a baby boy, Alec.
Every part of Ethan looked down at Alec and his heart filled with joy. Ethan cried. This was Charlotte and Ethan's baby. A baby they created.
Ethan promised he would forever protect his family.
That night Ethan prayed to God. He thanked him for everthing. For meeting Charlotte, for marrying her, and having Alec. Charlotte didn't fall into Oblivion. Charlotte didn't have to pick things she didn't want to.
Ethan had no idea where Paul was. Where he lived his new life or if he was living a new life. A part of Ethan felt bad for Paul. Paul's heart broke in every life he lived too.
Ethan even thanked Paul. He thanked him for finally being able to be with the only woman who completed him. He thanked him for Charlotte.
Now, we can finally have our happily ever after.
And they did.
