Nico's POV

I watched her climb into the van and watched it peel around the corner on the road to Manhattan. I didn't think it was a good idea for her to go on a quest by herself. Don't get me wrong, I knew Reyna could take care of herself. During the final battle with Gaea on the slopes of half blood hill, I had seen her single handedly polish off two squads of scythian dracaenae and five earth-born whilst holding a conversation with Annabeth. But something nagged at me, an uneasy feeling that wouldn't leave me alone. It grew to the point where I could no longer stand it.

"Screw it." : I thought. I jumped out of bed and stuffed some supplies into a backpack. Clothes, ambrosia, nectar and a blanket - it was getting late in the year. I yanked the cords, pulling my bag shut. Then, I drew a line in the air with my finger, the air rippled in front of me, a wisp of black smoke cutting open a rift in mid-air. I tossed my bag in and it vanished. It was a form of storage in shadows, something that my dad had recently taught me to do, similar to how I summoned my sword to my hand when I didn't want to carry it around. I took one last look around my cabin and stepped into a shadow.
