Reyna's POV
After a twenty minute walk, I found the spot Nico had shown me after the 2nd Giantomachy. It was a nice spot, a clearing about the size of half a tennis court, shaded by giant trees which allowed lances of golden sunlight to light the forest floor. I spotted a large boulder and decided it would be a good place to sit and wait for Nico to emerge from the niche.
It wasn't a very long wait, after a few minutes I heard some rustling, and out of a gap between two bushes emerged a boy wearing an old aviators jacket, a black t-shirt and faded jeans. His charcoal black hair was messy and fell in long locks all over the place. "Hey stranger." : I said.
He had obviously not sensed me earlier, as my words clearly startled him. He ducked, stretching out his hand and a shadow seemed to form and harden into his signature black sword. He spun, slashing a wide arc around him. I burst into laughter at his reaction. He looked up, and his face broke into a grin. He had gotten slightly taller over the months since I had last seen him, gained muscle mass and his skin was no longer deathly pale, instead a healthy peach with a hint of tan.
"Scare you?" I smirked. "Half to death." he replied. He flicked his wrist and his sword collapsed back into black smoke, which dissipated instantly. "You're a son of Hades Nico, you meet death on a regular basis." I said chuckling. He wrapped me in a tight hug, "Really great to see you again Rey." he said when we finally parted. "You too Neeks," I said, punching him in the shoulder, "now come on, I'm starving."
