Reyna’s POV

I got up and returned to my room in the big house. I took a shower and ate something. The next week was relatively the same routine. Eat, sleep, grieve with friends. I visited Nico’s hollow a lot, spending large amounts of time there. However, my grieving period was interrupted by yet another unexpected visitor. I was spending the night at Nico’s hollow and was just dropping off to sleep, when I felt a dark presence form outside. I grabbed my new sword and stepped outside. The clearing was illuminated by moonlight sifting through the branches, and standing next to the brook was a large man with jet black wings. I recognised him from Nico’s descriptions. “

Lord Thanatos.” : I said kneeling before the god of death. He turned, “Ah Miss Arellano. Please come with me, I have someone who wants to meet you.” : he said in a deep, rich voice. A shimmering doorway of purple light appeared. “Am I dying?” : I asked. “No don’t worry.” : Thanatos replied. I stepped into the gateway and appeared… in the garden of the underworld. Nico had taken me here a couple times before when we were bored and wanted to explore something new. Standing a few metres away was the god of the underworld himself, Hades, Nico’s father. “Reyna,” : he said, “welcome. We have something to discuss.”  “Thank you Thanatos, that will be all.” : he said to the god of death. Thanatos bowed and disappeared in a puff of smoke. “Please, follow me.” : he continued, and led me inside the giant mansion adjacent to the garden. “I felt my son’s death, and I heard about how close you two were. I am very sorry that you had to endure this loss.”: he said as we walked through the corridors of his house. “Um, thank you lord Hades. I too am sorry for your loss.” : I stammered. He nodded and opened the door to a room. “This was Nico’s room, whenever he would stay.” : he continued, his voice tinged with sadness. “And now he’s gone, and we have to live with that.” : I said. Hades turned towards me, a small smile on his face. “Not necessarily.”

He clapped, surrounding the two of us in a black dome of energy. “What’s that for?” : I asked. “It prevents any other god from spying on us.” : he explained. “You’re unique Reyna, I’ve never come across a demigod with your powers. The ability to impart strength. With your help, I may be able to bring Nico back.” : the lord of the underworld said.
