3rd person's POV
What saved her was the forest floor. With their poor depth perception, the blemmyae were moving at a snail's pace across the tangle of roots, stones and bumps. Reyna easily outran them, even with her ankle in the state it was in. However, she couldn't keep going forever. The ambrosia had stemmed the bleeding from both sets of slashes, but it wasn't enough.
She made camp in a small clearing, preparing a simple meal, tossing a small portion into her campfire for her mother, and laid back in her sleeping bag to rest. But being a demi-god, a famous one among monsters at that, rest wasn't coming any time soon. She had just extinguished the fire and laid down to sleep, when she heard the plodding of heavy footsteps.
Two cyclope lumbered just through Reyna's field of vision. She signed, she didn't want to stand, much less fight the two cyclope. The good thing was that they hadn't spotted her yet, so she had the element of surprise. She rose, and climbed the tree behind her, coming to above the cyclope's head level. Their conversation was easily audible as cyclope aren't particularly stealthy, and Reyna was able to make up some sentences. They were grumbling about when they had their last meal. "Feels like weeks ago." : one complained. "It was only last night." : the other replied. "How about breakfast in tartarus boys?" : she thought, then flipped off the branch she was perched in, landing on the shoulder of one cyclops. Before it could react, she drove her sword down into its head. It collapsed, crumbling into dust.
However, the other cyclops reacted faster than she thought possible, backhanding her into a tree. Her vision blurred, and her head felt floaty, regardless she managed to roll to the side, avoiding being smashed as the cyclops brought down its club. She ducked inside its next swipe, stabbing the cyclops in the knee. It stumbled back bellowing in pain. It yanked an entire tree straight out of the ground, raised it over its head... and froze. It dropped to its knees and imploded, its essence drawn into a black stygian iron blade, held by someone wearing an old aviators jacket.
