3rd person's POV
Hades had taught Nico how to manipulate shadows to allow him to somewhat conceal his presence. It wasn't completely Zeus proof, but it was worth the risk to get out once in a while. Today, they were on the rocky outcrop that Nico had shown Reyna before they left for the quest. They were enjoying their once a month opportunity out, and decided to have a picnic while looking at camp half blood. They were lying on the rock plateau, simply enjoying each other's company, maybe stealing a kiss or two, when suddenly Reyna heard a small clink.
They both looked at the floor, where a ring had rolled out of Nico's jeans pocket. He tried to snatch it up, but Reyna beat him to it. She held it up to the light, a gold band with a large blue jewel set into it, the gold intricately woven. "Is this...?" : Reyna asked. "Uhhhh, you were not supposed to see that yet." : Nico stammered. Reyna laughed, slipping the ring onto her left ring finger. "Does this mean you'll marry me?" : he chuckled. "You'll have to earn it." : she smirked.
He brushed his finger against the scar on her cheek, given to her by the empousa on the bus. A long white scar stretching from her right jaw to the bridge of her nose. An identical scar stretched from Nico's left jaw to the bridge of his nose, from where Koios had slashed his face. Nico smirked and then rolled off the side of the cliff. As they fell, both of them thought :"All the sacrifice we put in for each other, and all that we've given. If that isn't love, then I don't know what is."
Laughing, Nico asked: "So you gonna marry me yet?" "Well duh." : Reyna whispered.
