It's Me

Mariana walked out to the patio where everyone seemed to be sitting.
"Hey, where's Callie?" Alice said
"Oh she went to see Jamie" she said sitting down with them.
"She never wants to hang anymore" Davia said rolling her eyes.
"I thought you two made up?" Alice said confused.
"Well, yeah she's cool but still doesn't answer why she never wants to hang" she said taking a sip of beer.
"This just isn't her scene I guess" Malika said and Dennis looked over at Gael. They exchanged a look and Davia noticed,
"What?" She said looking at them.
"Oh nothing she just seems like she's hiding something.." Dennis said trailing off.
Mariana got tense as she sat up more straight,
"Hiding something?" She said looking confused.
"She has been sus" Ruby said looking at Alice.
"I think she's just busy probably? With the bar studying and all" Mariana said trying to change the subject.
"And she never has drinks with us anymore. It's like the girl gave up alcohol" Alice said and everyone nodded.
"I think that has to do with the fact that she's studying" Mariana added again.
"Wait, who are you again?" Dennis said looking at Ruby.
"Oh my god!" Davia said getting up.
"Do you guys think she's pregnant or something?" She said putting her hands over her mouth.
"That's what it sounds like" Ruby said.
"Isn't that where she's going right now, to see Jamie" Dennis added.
"Oh my gosh, it is! This is crazy!" Davia said.
"I mean, I always thought someone would eventually end up getting pregnant here but I was banking on Isabella" she added and everyone laughed, except for Mariana.
"You okay?" Malika said noticing her face looked pale and she was sweating slightly.
"Yeah, I guess, I don't know" she said trying to get the courage to say it was her. She couldn't have this rumor spread around the house more. It wasn't fair ot Callie.
"Oh no.. did something happen with Evan? I knew it" Davia said reaching out for her hand.
"No, actually it was a really nice date today" she said swallowing and wrapping the blanket around her tighter.
"Then what's wrong?" Alice said now a bit suspicious. Everyone looked at her and waited for an answer. Just then Isabella walked out,
"Woah what's all this?" She said smiling as Gael poured her a drink.
With Isabella there now, she was too scared to say anything.

Callie rang the doorbell nervously. She had exaughsted everything she wanted to tell him and knew he was hard to get through to so, she was expecting today to not be in her favor.
"Hey" Jamie said awkwardly opening the door and smiling slightly.
"Hey, thanks for trying to give me another chance I guess" Callie didn't exactly know what his intentions were today.
He let her in and they sat on the couch. She looked around as a lump formed in her throat, she missed this place.
Even just being here was a lot for her to handle. She glanced out at the gorgeous view and waited for Jamie to say something,
"Why? You know it felt like you completely didn't love me or care about me. You've always told me you did so why do I not feel that's true?" Jamie flat out said.
"I don't know, and I can't pretend that I do. I don't have any answers you want but I can say that, I love you. And I love activism" she added
"That's the problem Callie, you can't love a job more than me. Imagine if I put my job before you"
"But didn't you?" She snapped back.
"I told you if the cases you got went against my beliefs or were a conflict of interest to give it up. Even if it wasn't a problem on paper, you know that I had close feelings about it" she said crossing her arms.
"I'm sorry. I really want to try and be better. I think we both can do some work and get better. It wont be easy but I also do believe that we can" he said moving closer and Callie looked over at him, she felt a little but of hope.
"But.." he said hesitantly

"Can you give us a moment?" Alice said to Isabella noticing how Mariana didn't want to say anything with her around.
"Oh are we telling secrets now?" Isabella said offended.
"It's a private conversation with only the real coterie members" Davia said raising an eyebrow at her.
"I am a real member, last time I checked, I pay rent and signed a lease to be here" she said shrugging and ignoring them.
Gael looked at how desperate Mariana seemed and decided he would help her out.
"Come on, I'll keep you company inside" he said touching Isabella's arm,
"Well, I can't say no to that" she said smirking as they walked inside.
"Ughh I swear she's like always horney" Davia said and everyone laughed.
"I'm convinced that is her only mood" Malika said joining in on the joke.
"And what happened with Raj? I thought she was like dating him?" Alice said,
"True but I think things with them kind of phased out. Seemed like she didn't have any interest for him now that Mariana isn't with him" Malika said and they all agreed.
"Better keep an eye out before she meets up with Evan" Davia laughed. She looked over at Mariana who had her head down and was playing with the seams on the blanket.
"What's wrong? Seriously" Davia said rubbing her knee.
"Will you guys promise not to tell anyone else?" She said looking up at them.
"Of course not" Malika said moving closer.
"My lips are sealed" Davia said right after,
"Cmon Mariana, we're all family. You can trust us" Alice said smiling at her and Ruby and Dennis nodded their head.
"It's me" she said after a long pause.
Everyone looked confused,
"What is you?" Davia said tilting her head to the side.
"I'm the one that's pregnant... not Callie" she said looking slowly at their expressions. She cursed in her head, maybe she shouldn't have just said that.
