"But..." Jamie paused. The little bit of hope Callie had faded away quickly and she tensed up,
"I want us to be honest if we're gonna move forward. If you feel the need to ruin my master plan at work. Then tell me, don't leave me surprised and end up going behind my back" he said and she nodded.
"I can do that but.. I think maybe we shouldn't talk about our jobs with each other anymore" she said sadly. She hated that it came to this, to not being able to speak to each other about their careers because it causes problems.
This overthinking made her self conscious about her career, maybe they weren't as compatible as she thought.
"I think that's best, but you can't be going through my files or briefcase anymore then" he said as they both tried to hold in a smile.
Callie couldn't stay mad at him no matter how hard she tried to, he always had a way to make her want to come back to him. She wondered if he felt the same.
"Okay" she said looking out the window. She could feel his light blue eyes piercing through her soul even when facing away from him.
"Why the sudden change of heart? You did tell me I was a mistake" she said looking back at him with sad eyes.
"That comment was a mistake and I was hurt" he said shrugging.
Callie nodded, she understood they both could say some hurtful things in the moment.
"As promised though, I made dinner. I want you to know that things won't be exactly the same as they were for a while but, we can start over. Starting with trying to be friends again" he said getting up and heading to the kitchen to get the food.
She froze at his words, 'friends' she suddenly felt slightly embarrassed.
"I thought you wanted to get back together?" She said standing up.
"Well, yes we technically are. Let's just put it as, we're exclusive and together. We just don't have the boyfriend and girlfriend title yet" he said shrugging.
"So like friends with benefits or something?" She said laughing and shaking her head.
"No, just taking things slow. It's going to take time to get to where we were but I'm willing to start over" he said smiling and she approached him.
"Okay.. it is hard to pretend like I don't know you" she said defeated. At least they were on the right path and as much as she hated it being this way, she understood he needed time.
He served the plates and his arm brushed her arm slightly as he placed the dish down in front of her.
"We don't have to pretend anything. We're just restarting, it doesn't have to be weird" he said watching her confused expression.
"I just.... miss you so much" she said standing next to him.
"Me too. This was the hardest month of my life without you here" he said touching her arm. This was a different side of him she had never seen.
She was glad he missed her,
"and I love you" she said quietly as her eyes glistened with tears. Being so close to each other it was hard for both of them to resist what they had cherished for so long.
Without furthur thought, both of their lips crashed into each other as they passionately kissed.

"With who?" Davia said in shock as they all stared.
"So, Callie isn't pregnant?" Dennis said in disbelief.
"No she's not she's just been busy with studying and with the whole thing with Jamie" she said rubbing her forehead.
"But Gael said.." he trailed off.
"What did Gael say? Was everyone talking about this?" Mariana said sitting up straight.
"Gael said that Jamie called and that he saw Callie buying a test I think and he was convinced she was pregnant" Dennis said putting his hands up, he hated drama.
"Oh my god.. she was buying that for me" she said getting out her phone to call Callie and let her know what Jamie had told Gael.
"Hold up, there is so much going on but you didn't say who it was with" Davia said looking at Mariana intensely,
"Yeah who is it with Raj or Evan?" Alice chimed in.
"With Evan of course" she said rolling her eyes.
"But didn't you have sex with Raj before him, what if?" Davia said taking another sip.
"No, that's not possible the timeline matches up and I don't remember the last time Raj and I had sex" she said now stressed.
"Well, I guess we'll see once the baby is born right?" Ruby laughed and Mariana glared at her.
"If she even decides to have it. Have you decided yet what you were gonna do?" Malika said touching her hand supportively.
"I think I want to have it. It's not like I can't take care of a baby and I have always wanted kids so, I think this is best. Plus Ecsn seems happy" she said smiling. Saying it without hiding felt liberating.
"I'm happy for you" Malika said giving her a hug.
Everyone agreed and Mariana dialed Callie's number to let her know what Jamie had said.
