"So," Sofia said gulping. "you're a merman." She looked at him blankly and nodded. "Yes, it seems I am. I'm still confused about too." Tears started to swell in her eyes. "You, even my real brother too." A tear dripped from her eye and landed on the rock.
Luke looked at her and wrapped his arms around her. He wiped her eyes and kissed her forehead. "You'll always be my little sister." He whispered and smiled. Sofia looked at him and squeezed his hand tightly.
Serena couldn't help but smile. "That's so sweet." She smiled. Both Sofia and Luke smiled at Serena.
Sofia looked back at Luke with a serious face. "Wait, but what happened to your father and mother?" She asked. Luke let go of her and tapped his chin.
Serena had a ball full of guilt in her stomach. She sighed and took a deep breath. "There is a great consequence for falling for a human. Your father may be dead and your mother too. If mer folk find you, they'll know you're not a full merman." She said finally and bit her lip.
Luke stared at her for a while. "D..Dead?" He muttered and had a sick feeling in his stomach. Serena nodded. "I'm so sorry Luke but, it's a law for mer folk." She lowered her head. Sofia squeezed his hand tightly and leaned against his shoulder. "It'll be ok." She whispered.
A small tear dripped from his eye and landed on his tail.
