Luke laid on the floor for about an hour, til the tail separated into two legs. Luke blinked and slowly touched his leg. He sighed in relief and stood up. He still had normal hair, arms, eyes, ears, nose, and mouth. Luke stayed away from the sink and quickly opened the door.

When he was on the other side, he heard Sofia walking downstairs humming a Taylor Swift song. "Hey," she said shaking her hips. "feeling better?" Luke looked at her for a second and then nodded. "Yeah, yeah, I'm gonna go take a walk for a while, clear my mind." He hugged her and didn't let go after a minute. Sofia finally broke their hug and gave him a worried look. "You sure? I could come with you." Luke shook his head. "No," he said and lowered himself down to be face to face with her. "I want to be alone for a while, I promise I'll be home to make supper." He kissed her head. Sofia looked at him and nodded. "Ok, be safe." She said as Luke walked out the door and slowly walked to the shore.

"What's happening to me?" He asked himself trying to stay away from waves. Theories about what was happening raced in his mind. This wasn't natural, no human can just turn into a merman.

He finally stopped thinking and bit his lip. 'If I'm a merman, maybe there are others like me.' He thought to himself and looked at the water. He took off his shirt and when his foot touched the water, he began to see the transformation again. He quickly hid his body and swam under.

In the water, his tail looked amazing. It shined in sunlight and felt powerful as he swam. He smiled and started swimming out into the ocean, trying to find someone with answers.

------------------------------------

One of the things of being a merman was that, Luke could breath underwater, see underwater, and talk underworld too.

He finally gave up looking after an hour and swam to the surface. At the top, he spotted some flat rocks and he swam to them. He lifted his body up and sat on the rocks. Luke looked around, wondering where he was. It wasn't too late and he didn't have too much to worry about. He laid down and tried to relax. "What am I going to do now?" He muttered and closed his eyes. Suddenly, he felt little trickles of water hit his cheek. He opened his eyes and sat up. "Hello? Who's there?" He yelled and then saw a figure in the water. It moved left to right and had long hair. Luke cocked his head and squinted his eyes. Then, the figure revealed its self and it was a girl. She looked at Luke and lifted her body on the rock and examined him. She was just like Luke, a mermaid. Her hair was black and sapphires shimmered in her eyes. Her tail was green and flopped up and down a few times, as though she was happpy. "You're a mer, just like me." She smiled to happily. Luke nodded scared. He heard stories about mermaids, some were good, while others were evil.

The mermaid brushed her hair out her face and reached her arm and touched his tail. "Pure, pure mermaid." She smiled and hugged him. Luke looked at her strangely and broke their hug. The mermaid shook her head. "Sorry, haven't seen any mer folk for a while." She said and extended her arm. "Serena." Luke took her hand and shook it. "Luke."
