Memories and Secrets

"Is she waking up?" Asked a familiar voice. "I think so. Sofia? Can you hear me?" Another voice asked.

Sofia's vision was very blurry. But after a few minutes, it started to clear up. Kinda like a camera trying to focus on an object.

Sofia finally fluttered her eyes open and saw two worried faces. Serena and Luke. They both sighed in relief when they saw her awake.

"Thank the sea you are alive." Serena said and placed her hand over her heart. Luke helped her up and hugged her protectively. "You scared me." He said and let go of her.

"What happened?" She asked rubbing her temples. "It seems you must of witnessed something that put you into shock." Serena spoke and held her hand. "What did you see?"

Sofia thought with all her might but couldn't remember. "I'm sorry, but I can't remember..." she sighed.

Serena looked at Luke and he nodded in approval. Serena placed her two fingers on Sofia's temples. "What are you doing?" She asked a little scared. "I'm gonna help you remember by going into your memories." She said. "Ready?"

Sofia glanced at  Luke and held his hand.

She nodded and went inside her mind.

Being inside ones memories is like The Christmas Carol. You are a ghost and are witnessing your memories.

That's how it felt for Sofia. She felt like a ghost wandering in her subconscious.

Everything was so clear in her mind that she could make out that mysterious figure by Clara. When the figure turned around it was her father. She gasped and saw him carrying Luke in one arm. And the other, a mysterious child wrapped in cloth. She pondered and wondered.

Sofia followed him till he stopped at their house. But now, it was old and very worn out. Her father placed Luke on the table and placed the other next to him. He unwrapped the cloth and revealed the mystery child. It was her!

Sofia gasped and looked at her father's  face. It was full of sadness and worry. "Clara, I couldn't protect you. I promise, you keep Luke safe." He cried and glanced at Sofia. She cooed and reached out to touch her father.

He wiped his eyes and kissed her head. "Sofia, one day, the sea will call you. And you'll be home." He whispered and then everything started to fade away.....
